I guess I have never used that kind of stuff. Dustin used to use wax in his ears to keep water out. I guess I was lucky. I swam in muddy ponds and rivers and never used ear plugs and have never had an earache in my life. I did hate to get water in my nose tho so I never did flips underwater.

Only if its an English muffin, buttering an American muffin is wrong in my opinion and against the immutable laws of nature, no good can come of such actions. :lips:

I find that if you have just toasted your toast just take out the butter from the fridge and cut a slice of butter and leave it on the warm toast until it starts melting because its laying on warm toast then spread it .

thats my tip :-6

The problem is when you try to butter bread because it isn't warm and the butter won't melt and then you slaughter it when you try to spread the butter unless you refuse to refrigerate it and then it is warm already.

With my toast , I will start toasting my toast and when its ready ( Just lightly brown ) take out of oven or toaster then leave it for a while with a slice of butter on it just for a few minutes then let the butter melt soft enough to spread on the toast . :)

Just leave it out for a while to soften or just use margarine but I find it never tastes the same . :)

Well its not important anyway in Ireland in February to refrigerate the butter, and in the summer I just take it out about an hour before I need it, that works. It just means planning ahead. :guitarist

Directly from the Land O Lakes site under FAQ Butter:

"Is it safe to keep my butter on the kitchen counter so it is always soft? "

If you want to keep butter softened for ease of use, keep it in a covered dish at room temperature for 3 to 5 days. The flavor and color may be affected but it is safe to use.

You may also want to use LAND O LAKES® Spreadable Butter with Canola Oil. It is easy to spread - no need to soften! You can use it right from the refrigerator.

I refrigerate butter/margarine at night.I often use it durning the day,so I leave it out,but after dinner I put it away, just to be safe and it retains its flavor if it is refrigerated. :)

Thanks. I am gonna start using butter again I think. I have been using Smart Choice but it seems like they changed the formula a bit. Maybe its just me.

I tried to make butter once when I was 12. I put a coffee creamer in my coat pocket and shook it every day. On about the fifth day it broke in my pocket.
