If that was not so farcical it would be funny.

Consider time, consider the passing of time, consider the difference between cooling three degrees over a hundred thousand years to bring an ice age to Scotland and warming three degrees in a hundred years as a result of the industrial revolution - one is a natural event, the other?

Once upon a time London was a shallow sea sitting on the equator. As part of a natural event continental shift moved London fifty five degrees north - would it be a natural event if London was back on the equator a thousand years from now?

Consider change, consider rate of change, consider the difference between the twentieth century and the rest of history. Now tell me that global warming is a natural event - and back it up with evidence.

How do you explain the findings of Nassa when there was a three day no fly zone at the time of 9/11--- Global Dimming scientists called it. How about Ice cores taken from artic regions showing a heating up & cooling down process every few thousand years? How about evidence of water under the Sahara? How about the theory that the Ancient Egyptian race died out due to the Nile drying up?

Noah - the Pillars of Hercules used to be a land bridge and the Med was dry land. When the sea broke through the land flooded in a BIG way.

9/11 - a link to explain your meaning please.

Arctic cores - sure, temperatures go up and down - just not at the current rate. Care to show when the core data shows a delta v matching the last thirty years?

Sahara - of course it was a sea bed, millions of years ago - see continental drift.

Nile - yes, historical evidence shows that a prolonged drought caused widespread death. This is not evidence of previous global warming, just an extended drought in a localised area with insufficient food reserves.

Sorry Bryn, there may be a link out there but i don't have one as yet. Global Dimming is what scientists called the evidence that area's of America heated up by 3 degrees after 9/11 when there was a no fly zone. Maybe only theory at the moment but the idea was that carbon emmisions provided a blanket that some of the suns rays were reflecting back into space. Without this smog, the planet would already be hotter.

What about the idea that Iceland's ice has increased in mass?

Iceland has very little ice and what there is is decreasing. Greenland next door is covered in ice but that's disappearing quickly.

Without anything to go on I cannot comment on this so called global dimming - it hasn't been reported in any serious, peer reviewed, papers that I've seen.

ETA Certainly, reflection from airborne particulates is playing a part in reducing the effects of global warming (Lovelock's been commenting on the fact that cutting all emissions would cause a short term warming for this reason for some time) but I have seen no suggestion or any recorded three degree rise from this cause within the last decade.

Thanks Bryn. It was a one off documentary i saw on sky. Apparently they had believed in this global dimming for some years but never got the chance to prove it due to constant air traffic. It was only due to 9/11 & the no fly zone, they found an ideal opportunity. I hope they will produce their findings further in the near future. There was another one i saw about Mega lightning & the theory that it brought the shuttle down. I suppose scientists have to throw these theories around. It was actually "Jeremy Clarkson" who stated in The Sun that Iceland had increased it's ice mass. Therefore, i did take it with a huge pinch of salt.

I think this link will answer your question:

Beyond president and vice President

The Presidential Succession Law of 1947 addressed the simultaneous disability of both the president and vice president. Under this law, here are the offices and current office holders who would become president should both the president and vice president be disabled. Remember, to assume the presidency, a person must also meet all the legal requirements to serve as president.

1. Vice President of the United States

2. Speaker of the House

3. President pro Tempore of the Senate

Secretaries of the president's Cabinet now fill out the balance of list of succession:

4. Secretary of State

5. Secretary of the Treasury

6. Secretary of Defense

7. Attorney General

8. Secretary of the Interior

9. Secretary of Agriculture

10. Secretary of Commerce

11. Secretary of Labor

12. Secretary of Health & Human Services

13. Secretary of Housing & Urban Development

14. Secretary of Transportation

15. Secretary of Energy

16. Secretary of Education

17. Secretary of Veterans’ Affairs

18. Secretary of Homeland Security

So if I understand this right, Harry Reid would become president if both the pres and vp were to die.

The cabinet members are appointed by the pres with advice and consent of the Senate. In other words, no.

I still go there. Nothing but fields all around. They put a U.S air force base one side, Canadian the other. Perfect harmony & my gran got great nylons. Thanks guys.:-6:-6:-6 My father was away in the brit raf. My mother wrote to him to ask if a young American man called Frank Devatore from Ohio could have permission to escort her to the local dance. My father replied "Only if he is a true gentleman". She replied "MY dear, they are all true gentlemen". I have the letters.
