Yup! I've eaten Emu before just to be polite. It wasn't bad, but not really my first choice.

Cut it up and make some menudo, and ill take it!
The poolhall's a great equalizer. In the poolhall, nobody cares how old you are, how young you are, what color your skin is or how much money you've got in your pocket... It's about how you move. I remember this kid once who could move around a pool table like nobody had ever seen. Hour after hour, rack after rack, his shots just went in. The cue was part of his arm and the balls had eyes. And the thing that made him so good was... He thought he could never miss. I know, 'cause that kid was me.

I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.

Depending on what it was I may take a small(teeny tiny) bite and if I didn't like it I wouldn't eat it. I guess I'm not a very polite dinner guest. Same thing with anything else, if I know I don't like it, I won't eat it.

:wah: Oh spot!

I have been at a fancy wedding dinner, they had eel, sea urchin and some other yucky things in the dishes. It was my brother's wedding supper. Even though the whole family was sitting there, I wouldn't eat that stuff. Polite about it, picked out the veggies, smiled, kicked my brother under the table as he snickered, and went home and ate some pizza.

I figure at my age, if I don't want to eat it, and can be polite about it, I'm not going to have any. :)

Nobody's brought up Rocky Mountain oysters?

These being, apparently, "buffalo, boar, or bull testicles. They are usually peeled, coated in flour, pepper and salt, sometimes pounded flat, then deep-fried".

Pounded flat? People can look at these things and not go pale?

They are very tasty Spot. I have had them hundreds of times including turkey testicles. I was even aa a Turkey testicle festival once, must have eaten 25 lbs. of them.

NO..!! No how no way I don't like most meat and will only eat a few select cuts. So being polite wouldn't work for me as I would probably gag on the meal if I didn't like it. :p

A seafood platter sure would be nice about now. ;)

If you're ever given one, eat the eyes and ears first while it's still warm and before the fat congeals. The rest's meatier and equally edible cold.
