Hope the game's still on as we don't play again for another 3 weeks. A 4 week gap between games wouldn't do much for match fitness would it?

Paid out $2 pick 3 - $35...I only put $1 down and received $17 - With that and my exacta I hit about two races earlier I've made my money back plus about $17 with still a couple of tickets to go...
I just started betting on horses again too, after I took a couple of hits...It's not the same without being able to read the programs, so I won't be putting down near as much money as I used to...

I thought I was going to get a bunch of money...
I couldn't have been more wrong.

There are two brothers here have hit the pick six several times. I thought that was amazing until I learned how much they spend to win it.

Yeah it's not much...
But if they are heavily favored to win you could always put down a $20 here or there...
A $2 pick 6 on even the most favored of horses would still be about $50 for every $1 you bet...Those are good payouts, especially when it comes to greedy bookies.

I wondered why some people picked up the old tickets from the ground. A friend who had horses in the races told me you can use them to offset winnings. That is to say that if you win big you can use losing tickets to offset part of the winnings.

Yeah, they are a tax write off...
That, and the possibility of some drunkard throwing a winning ticket away.
I wondered for a while why mountain goats didn't just evolve with two legs longer than the other two, so that they could walk round the mountain with no bother.......after contemplation I realised they would only be able to walk round the mountain one way.

Yes,
Upon being able to actually get up the mountain, they would then have trouble getting back down,..well...not trouble, but they would be getting down the mountain rather quickly - faster than they would prefer...

ok - so you've taken this to another level now............ I was kinda thinking both left legs being longer than both right legs, so they would be able to walk round the mountain (in pink pyjamas?)
