The worst part of being single means having to go on dates.

How do you deal with it?

Do you talk easily and openly or do you stutter and ask dumb questions?

Where do you go?

What do you do?

Describe a typical first date.

i struggle to imagine people getting married anymore without having sex first.

that's part of the problem with dating is this worrying if your clothes are supposed to still be on.

Never have sex on the first date, or second, or third come to think about it :wah:

Seriously, get to know the guy, super sexy looks & smooth talking means nothing long term.

Some old fashioned values seem bizzarre in this day & age but c'mon, they have stood the test of time.

Getting laid & finding a life partner are two completely separate issues imo & my granny's, wish you could have met her Koan, fantastic woman ;) :-4

Have you ever thought you liked someone at the start of the date then had to try and figure out how to get out because the next two hours changed your mind?

I tried getting a bunch of female friends together to practice saying "NO"

I figured sometimes women think backing out means blueballing. Like we led them on and have to follow through now. They thought it was a good idea but we never tried it.

This is where the mobile phone comes in, you tell your friend to call you with some random bull 2 hours into the date, if your not having a good time, you have your plan B ;)

I love talking to older women that aren't too shy to share their experiences with men.

I think I usually get to know people through work or acquaintances fairly well before I go on what would be called a date.

I am dating off and on.....no sex......what i want is a life partner. a friend. so i am not interested in the sex part right now. i know myself well enough that i need to know i am compatible with the man and there is more there than chemistry......once sex enters the picture i want ot know that there is more there than just the physical part of the realtionship. :)

Between me and BTS .......it had been years since I was interested. We met we talked we parted company. It was obvious I did not know how to date.

I read once that you can tell what kind of partner someone is by how they treat the wait staff at a restaurant. When I think about it, it is true for both men and women.

Anytime you want to hear granny or grandad's wisdom, gimme a shout, advice they gave may be old fashioned but i can truly say has stood the test of time, i fought against it bitterly on many occassions in my youth, silly me

Bless :-4

Your still young pinks & single, when you decide to settle down - rock gigs might not be the ideal meeting place for a lifetime partner.

Have a blast just now tho, lots of fun to be had at rock gigs ;)

I can happily say I've never dated anyone I met in a bar.

We met outside the bar, hailing a cab.

I hate the sense that someone is putting on their "best face" so I'll like them.

I'd rather just know who they are.

Then again sometimes meeting someone brings out the best in us and the rest comes out after the thrill of newness wears off.

the opposite is just as bad.

when you meet someone for a date and they go on and on about how terrible they are.

I usually just end up agreeing.

I've tried explaining that I am quite capable of seeing all their problems for myself.

And then some. :wah:

it turns out better if you meet them in a social circle of your friends. i usually dont pay any attention to them so i act like myself. quite honestly, i dont even realized they are interested untill they say somehting later......i can be dense in that department...i never pick up vibes....

I've noticed that as soon as I'm dating someone guys seem to crawl out of the woodwork.

Where were they when I was single?

Want to enjoy a date and truly get something out of it?

Make no judgements and have no expectations.

There ya go. No pressure.

That's how you go out with your friends.

Isn't it?

I didn't rush around wildly though and I didn't want to just fill the void with someone on a whim. I always feel sorry for guys because they are supposed to take all the risk of rejection.

typically.

first move to ask on date

do you go for a kiss?

do open the door for her?

pah. I couldn't be a guy.

If I don't then I may miss 'what could have been.'

If I want to see her again, yes.

WTF? Men don't open doors for you?

They ain't men. They're spoiled children. With no respect.

Nah. You couldn't cut it as a guy.

And good for us guys.

You sound like a really good date.

A human.
