all's fair when i need to save my life. but i can only use what my sheriff authorizes. i will tell you this, when we do weapon retention and ground fighting, anything goes.and i would kill in a heartbeat. we had a big to-do over LVNR, lateral vascular neck restraint, it breaks necks. but thankfully my sheriff authorized and trained us. someone wants to kill me am going to kill him. period.

Ok, lets see....hmmmn?
Right, lets say I was on holiday in Florida (holiday now, not drug running for the cubans or anything), and this bloke got stabbed right. Now lets just say that I was in the vicinity of the incident and I got pulled in, so I say:
"right....officer, see the thing is...I was on the bus and then I tripped, and the bag of coke and the wad of money fell into me bag by accident, while at the same time the bread knife (that I bought for me mother as a souvenir mind you) fell out of me pocket and into that lad's head.....several times....accidently"
Would that work? Or could I plead the fifth, or could I blame me granny or something? (she was a bit mental). Not that I would of course engage in such things.

the only explanation i have Far, is that when cars play that flash lights to warn other drivers of cops or speedtraps game, it really is annoying and a citing offense in some places. he may well have thought that's what you were doing. he shouldn't have been yelling at you. but he SHOULD have his hand on his holster.

If I can interject in LC's thread here, I believe that Florida is one of the first states to amend their law to say that you don't have to try and flee before you use deadly force. Most other states (if my understanding of the law is correct) you are required to try and avoid the confrontation and escape before using deadly force. Only then is the use of deadly force acceptable. Florida says, Nope, if you feel your life is threatened, kill the SOB.

In PA too, civilians have the right to use deadly force to protect ones self against murder, rape, robbery, or assault IF your assailant has plainly threatened you by deed, has a weapon or other means to carry out his threat, or has cut off your ability to leave in a safe and normal manner.

The law here states, "deadly force may be used if the assailant is armed or giving the appearance of so being, or able to hurt you; as by physical size." I'd choose deadly force if the option to escape wasn't there. Right BR.

Hiya LC,
If you have to shoot, do you always shoot to kill or do you try to wound instead if possible?
If any FG-ers came to Florida and fell foul of the law (accidently, of course :wah: ) how could they get a message to you so you could help them sort out their problem? Or could you not get involved?
When you come to the UK would you seriously try to enter the Police Force again or would you try to run your bookshop or would you just want to retire in peace and enjoy life? :driving: Did you know that you could carry a gun here, in certain police jobs? Eg, patrolling Heathrow. Also if you DID join the police force here and you were involved in a high speed car chase, would you automatically remember which side of the road to drive on? Sorry, that sounds cheeky, but I just wondered if you would find it an easy or difficult transformation.
Would you be able to use the NHS at all, or only when you take Citizenship?
Would you give up your American Citizenship or would you want dual nationality?
How did you get to meet Bothwell? (If its not too personal?) Did you meet him here at FG? How did you decide he was the one for you?
My nose is longer than Pinocchinose's! Thanks for answering.
