bane ( P ) Pronunciation Key (bn)

n.

Fatal injury or ruin: “Hath some fond lover tic'd thee to thy bane?” (George Herbert).

A cause of harm, ruin, or death: “Obedience,/Bane of all genius, virtue, freedom, truth,/Makes slaves of men” (Percy Bysshe Shelley).

A source of persistent annoyance or exasperation: “The spellings of foreign names are often the bane of busy copy editors” (Norm Goldstein).

Actually Ive been continuing it to annoy LC, which is why I also call her pussycat. But it backfired on me cause deep down she loves that. Same with BR, when I call her Cuddles she gets all toasty warm and fuzzy, like a cuddly little puppy. That backfired on me too.

Butter makes me feel like throwing up, so does margarine. I can't eat either I must have had some that had gone off, it probably hadn't been refrigerated. In fact it hadn't and I haven't had it since.

You better refrigerate it.:-3

I had buttered popcorn last night. Am I the only one left who pops it the old-fashioned way? I have some of the microwave type, but only use that when I'm feeling lazy.

What is the connoiseurs alternative ??:confused:If you have a microwave, pick out almost any buttered popcorn. Follow the directions carefully; it's easy to burn and the smell will linger for days.

If no microwave, bagged popcorn kernels come with directions on the bag, though I don't know if it's available in the UK.
