No we should not be allowed to own slaves anymore. We are no longer under the law. After Christ died and rose again, He set us free from curse the law. We are now under Grace.

First of all, Evolution is a Science. Darwin was a Scientist, but he was also a Creationist. Then he found that the Scientific Evidence was in conflict with his unsubstantiated beliefs based on Faith which, by definition, requires no evidence.
As for the Holocaust - you have proved the case against Religion for yourself. A Catholic (a Religion) with a hatred for Jews (another Religion - from which, incidentally, the founder of the former Religion was a member of).
As for Hitler's idea of Evolution - that was fundamentally flawed. His idea of developing a perfect Master Race by inbreeding goes totally AGAINST the rules of Evolution. Evolution requires diversity.

I don't remember which scholar pointed this out. Careful studies of wars and death have shown that the idea that religion has caused allor most of the problems is itself a myth. Sure there are folks in history who have murdered and killed in the name of religion but one must look at the roots of the events. Religion has often been used as the scapegoat for all kinds of atrocities. That does not prove that religion caused the issues. Hitler used the church in name only. The statistical study has shown otherwise. Blanket statements do not present truth.

As far as where I end up when I die I trust God to look after that part. I don't need a contract signed sealed and delivered (Bible) I put my trust in God, I don't need dogma or doctrine. They are man made theories.I will add here that I think to make Jesus into a god is to demean the very great and exceptional human that he really was. What we do see manifest in Jesus is the true nature of the Divine. Making Jesus into a magician is seriiously wrong. He himself always deferred to "the father". That does not dissuade me from being a Trinitarian. I see Jesus as one of the three masks of the Divine.

As far as death goes; you only realize you fell asleep after you've woken up - when you die you're never waking up, so you're never going to come to understand that you had died. And as far as life after death or near death goes - once the brain fully dies - dreaming stops too, and I expect that happens fully a bit after the body dies in most cases. There is no other life called a soul living inside of you. It's all a crude fairly tale that's been passed down. We now know better. Try getting into the 21st century.

It puts me in mind of the line (to paraphrase), "This is my autobiography - I can't wait to read it".

We seem to place the word= in the Bible ahead of what Jesus is reported to have said in John 16 that he still had many things to tell us but we were' NOT YET READY TO HEAR THEM. hE tells us the Holy Spirit will come and lead us into all truth. Clearly we will be led there as we are ready to hear the truth. It is quite clear to me that fundamentalists do no accept the words of Jesus. If God Himself were to appear and tell them the new truths they would resort to the Bible to prove Him wrong.
The Bible is not in and of itself the "Word of God". It becomes for Christians the "Word of God" because God speaks to us through the very human words in the Bible.
