It seems to me that on any religion it is hard to decide what are lies and what are presenting BS. I personally think they all play a valuable roll and have don so in the past. Problems? Yes but don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

That is wishful thinking but even the Jews who wrote the Bible will back that up. Perhaps you should do a little research with honest theologians and biblical historians. ie. The famous 10 came before Moses. They were part of a treaty between the Hebrew and the Hittites.

I choose to take all people as they are. I don't care if you have no faith or you are among those around the world who have other faiths. In my view all have some validity withing them. I cannot and will not say any religion or faith is off. Now within all faiths there are extremist and their behavior is unacceptable. According to well known religious historian Karen Armstrong in here book "The Great Transformation all of the great faiths were founded on the principles of justice and compassion.

I believe it because it's true and it's supported by the actual evidence, not what someone tells me I should believe while hiding the evidence that they don't want me to see like evolutionists do. No, the bible wasn't written by pagans, what I mean is the bible is based on misguided pagan beliefs. Research shows this. You would know this too if you had done some research. I mean real research, not just blindly believing what you are told to believe and calling it research.

It is true that the Pagans didn't write the Bible. Paganism is a religion in itself. You seem to be referring to them in a derogatory way, using the term for anyone who is a non believer. I actually have respect for Pagans, as they embrace all that is good in the world & are tolerant to the utmost degree. They have no need of a written story book to be exaggerated on by subsequent generations in order to extol themselves & maintain power.

Yes, I believe in evolution. Why? Because the evidence is irrefutable, apart from to those who will argue that Black is White & vice versa. Even many scientists who study evolution are also Religious (although how they can be so is beyond me). Some even believe that evolution was part of God's great plan, and that it was he who introduced the Primordial Slime as part of that plan. In my opinion, more nonsense, but it is, at least, a compromise in order to accept the evidence of the existence of evolution.

Pagans have never had a written scripture. Nor do they have one now. They have no need of one. They observe the seasons & astrological phases - observations which were unheard of in Biblical times. These are things which exist. They have been seen to exist. They exist to this day. They are not based on hearsay or legends of some illusionist. Their Religion is based on Astrological Science. I would agree with that, but they were replaced with Christian Holidays celebrating Christian events. Pagans don't have a monopoly on those particular days.

The claim of a Heaven or Hell is purely imaginary, as no-one has ever come from there, other than in The Big Story Book, to attest to its existence.

we should believe in good Karma (good things done for society)

That's how I see things - to do good by others for the sake of doing it - not in the hope of receiving any reward - which the promise of eternity in some imaginary Heaven is. It's just a downright selfish attitude to aspire to reach heaven.

That said, the question I then hear coming from the chorus is well, then what's wrong with illusion of an afterlife? The simple answer is that we are also self-aware and can witness what our behavior is doing to the planet, other species and ourselves as a species. We are also driven to want the species as a whole to survive. Our best bet for that purpose is to continue to evolve biologically, socially, culturally and any other way - whatever that ends up being. It's obvious that religious belief and spiritualism is not a part of the future of humankind. Both are declining fairly rapidly, relatively speaking.
