This is a broccoli salad with raisins and sunflower seeds, along with red onion, peas, and a sweet-sour mayonnaise dressing.

Ingredients:

5 cups fresh broccoli florets

1/2 cup raisins

1/2 cup sunflower seeds

1/2 cup cooked, crumbled bacon

1/4 cup of red onion, chopped

1 cup of frozen peas, thawed

.

Dressing:

1 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons vinegar

1/2 cup sugar

Preparation:

Combine broccoli florets, raisins, sunflower seeds, crumbled bacon, chopped onion, and peas in a large serving bowl. In a separate bowl or large cup, whisk together mayonnaise, vinegar and sugar. Add dressing to the salad and toss to mix well; chill thoroughly before serving.

Broccoli salad serves 4 to 6.

Um maybe Lon. Id have to tweak a couple of ingredients. Is that allowed ?

Marinated flank steak, potato patties (made from the box) and asparagus. The potatoes turn out much better if you use instant potatoes. I think tomorrow I will grab hubs card & go get some really good Italian hoagies...like 4 of them.:-4

Good old tacos tonight. I had a craving for them. No, I am not preggie. :yh_rotfl I just crave some weird things sometimes. It is like my body knows what it needs or something. It may have been subliminal from a comercial I saw as well. Food comercials can do that to me too.

My job lately has involved contact with a lot of chefs and has resurrected my interest in cooking.

Tonight we are having pork loin steaks with a mustard mash (Maris Piper potatoes), creamed savoy cabbage and a cep mushroom and chardonnay sauce.

If anybody needs a recipe for stilton sauce I have the BEST and EASIEST one ever! (took me about 6 tries before I got there lol)

OH! My bf has also arranged for me to spend a few days with one of the chefs in one of the posh hotel kitchens! I start with veg prep - move onto meat station - then I have no idea where I am going as they won't tell me! :-2

Cool experience. There are mini chef tutoring establishments popping up in upscale shops. You pay a fee and learn to cook a fabulous meal hands on with the chef and a small group of participants.

One day Ill try this.

qsducks;1159107 wrote: I made crab cakes last Friday and man they were so good! Did you add Old Bay seasoning to them? You must try Old Bay fries to die for.

Ok, tonight we are having peppercorn pork loin, fried potato patties & peas. It's a P night.

I usually use Old Bay if it's around, but if it's not I know what's in it and make it myself... sometimes I might even add a new spice or two to the recipe, depending upon my mood.

Anyone here have fried green beans before? I'm sure some have. Well last night I did a variation. I had a bunch of fresh asparagus that I soaked in milk then sprinkled some flour then back in milk then sprinkled with corn meal. Fried them in a super hot frying pan with a litte olive oil for just about a minute or so rolling them around. They turned out legendary.
