I eat pie for breakfast, yep, when there is one in the house, I just made a pumpkin pie from scratch, cooked the pumpkin myself, thank you so much, here is a story you might laugh at , but if you are a true pie lover you will see nothing wrong with this.

I love strawberry-rhubarb pie, but only from this lady in Canada, that I refer to as the pie lady, I live in Michigan, so I either take the bridge or the ferry to the other side and drive to Godrich(the most beautiful place in the world)

Well I bought her last one.Smiling and feeling ever so smug with myself, placing it in the vehicle, my son, placed his knee directly in the center of it crawling out of the car, that was ok , because it was in the box, and I could scrape the pie off the top with a spoon. Long story short, I decided to take it to lunch the next day at work, I walk to work, I dropped the pie in the parking lot of the pharmacy,"" OOOOOH -AAAHHHHHH" you say, nope this is where the 5 second rule applies, Yep, you guessed it , scooped it up and ate what I could salvage!!!!

-Primitive, yeah maybe, but a true pie lover.

Strawberry-Rhubarb, deep dish apple, and pumpkin

-cream pies are my least favorite.

I hate to be a naysayer, a stick in the mud, whitey bringing everyone down but how pathetic is this ? 6 pages of pie talk. There was a time Id be out on the town on a Sat. night. Now I just need a nap and if the cat strolls by and licks my face Im a pretty happy camper.

Anyone ever have Huckberry Cobbler?

YUUUMMY

This works well with blueberries and blackberries also!

Easy to make.

INGREDIENTS:

1/4 cup butter

1/2 cup white sugar

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk

2 1/2 cups huckberries

3/4 cup white sugar

1/2 cup boiling water

1 tablespoon butterDIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C.) Grease the bottom of a 9 inch square pan.

In a large bowl, cream 1/4 cup butter and 1/2 cup sugar. In a separate small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Stir into butter mixture. Stir in milk; mixture will be thick and lumpy. Spread batter into the prepared pan.

In a large bowl, combine berries, 3/4 cup sugar and 1/2 cup boiling water. Pour over the batter in the pan. Dot the top with remaining 1 tablespoon of butter.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes.

for the record sweet potato pie is quite legitimate in its own right, its own category

it gets a little confusing here so bear with me...while sweet potato pie if made correctly is a wonderfully sweet delectable morsel (and Im sure Grandma made the best sweet potato pie) it however cannot, must not be classified as a sweet dessert pie

what is it then ? only the Gods know

its a unique sampling of vegetables in a rare form...pie

pumpkin pie however while a vegetable of sorts is a dessert pie to be lumped in with all the others

accountable ! surely you can understand this ? lets not let pie come between us ok ?

I'm sure if a pie ever came between us it wouldn't last very long ... unless it was a rhubarb pie. Then it may sit there forever! :wah:

BTW, I feel uncomfortable eating anything that is also a monster face part of the year. :yh_pumpkn
