Help!!!

I am faced with purchasing a new car, never done this in my life before no idea what to look for. I need low payments, and low insurance due to budget. No SUV, NO Mini Van.

Interested in Honda, Kia, Hyundai, but..... know nothing about anything.

North American Cars.... no clue either.

Any wise words, I go tonite.

Dunno about Canada but her in England low payments mean you pay an awful lot more for the car in the end!

There's a group here called Carcraft where you can buy a car, put Ã‚Â£99 down, dont pay anything for 12 months and pay Ã‚Â£99 per month thereafter interest free!!

How the bloody hell do they do it??

stay away from the Kia....impossible to get parts because it's assembled in korea from odd parts of all types. Legos i think.

Ohhh low payments combined with a healthy downpayment is where I am at.

Wunna them "hybrid" cars. You'll be the envy of all you survey. Honda makes one, I think. They're pricey, but looking at the trajectory of gas prices in the future, an excellent investment.

Minks, I know next to nothing abut buying a new car. What I do know is that Cadillac has a new one coming out that you should avoid at all costs. Bullet builds them and has come across more faults and engineering "whoopses" than any other car. The old-timers who have 20+ years on his line say they have never seen a car so poorly put together. (Now WTF is it called????) Just avoid all new Caddy's.

Here's what I drive. A yellow Chevy S10 Club Cab pickup.

it has some real advantages.

1. It's seats 4 comfortably.

2. It drives like a car, very smooth.

3. It only has a 6-cylinder and is pretty small, so it grets great gas mileage.

4. You can shift to 4 wheel drive with the push of a button while driving.

5. It will haul stuff like leaves and furniture.

so you get the best of both worlds:

A car that will also 4 wheel and haul loads, and gets great gas mileage.

OOO I like my only issue with a small truck, come winter on our icey roads I would have to stack a few dead bodies in the back for weight.

Thats a Corsa isn't it Abbey?? I'd be tempted to go for a Vauxhall, but someone I know recently ran them down big-time, so now I'm not so sure!!

My son wants a Beetle in Blue and the daughter wants a 'car with the roof missing' in Yellow!:yh_sick

Yep Betty its a vauxhall corsa, its only a 1.2 litre so the fuel consumption's pretty good, touch wood no problems so far but its still under the waranty so i'm ok for now.

Don't think I'll be able to buy new, or even nearly new! Apparently I'm not even supposed to buy a car as it's classed as a luxery (sp?? - doesn't look right!). Every penny I spend over the next couple of years has to be accounted for! It's worse than being married!!:-5

Talk about different perspectives. That is enormous. Here a small car is one litre or under, middle size is 1.6 litre (above that the road tax goes up) 2 litre is large 4.3 litre is kind of excessive and pointless-most off roaders would be diesel anyway for fuel economy and better pulling power.

Most our our cars now are 16 valve fuel injected engines small diesels now have common rail fuel injection so you are looking at 60-70 mpg, small petrol around 50 is the norm.

Away from the motorways We have small twisty roads things like that would be impractical for normal use. you do get the odd numpty importing chevvy pickups, they completely fill the average parking space here.

The chevrolets we get are made in Korea (used to be daewoo) and start at 998cc.

I would suggest you get somethimg you can use as often as you like without haing to worry about whether you can afford it.
