well first off im Rade and Ive been searching for information on what its like to live in various areas of the UK, ATM my g/f and i still live with her ex b/f we applied to housing about 6 months ago and are still waiting for confirmation that they know we exsist..when we go in and ask about our priority etc they say we're in the system have the highest priority and we should keep applying for housing ..the same as they've said for the past 6months :-5 i dont expect mircles as this is a council but having moved around the country abit when i was single it normally took about 2-3months to get a place ( before i moved here it only took two weeks to sort a place) things are getting desperate now her ex has a new g/f whos great but they obviously want their own space.. ATM we can have up to 4 aults and a 1yr old (my g/f and ex's daughter) in a two bedroom highrise flat..we dont want to move out of the area because we want easy access for the father but its getting to the point of ANYWERE..so id like to know about the city you live in...whats the services (dental GP etc) like (leeds has NO NHS dentists anymore) and the council like for housing (leeds advertises up to 30 houses aweek as immediate occupation and yet still offers none after 6 months :-2 ) and is it more rural or very inner city?
I was pissed (the American kind) about politics in some fashion. I typed in ... gee, I don't remember ... in google. FG was one of many on the list. Not sure why I tried this one first but I'm really glad I did. I've checked others since, but this on is definitely top of the list!
I was looking for a nice forum-one that I can still look at during the day at work that isn't blocked! So when I return to work tomorrow, I can always pop in and out!
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.
I'm not sure exactly when I stumbled on this place, I know I wasn't looking for a forum as I didn't know what one was!!
All I can think is that I did a search on domestic violence and somehow that bought me here!!
I lurked and did a lot of reading before I joined, everybody seemed nice apart from the odd one or two!!! (who appear to have left now - before you all start wondering who they are :wah: )
I know being here for the first couple of months was quite scary as I had to hide it from the husband, but it helped me to get some things down in writing, and lots of people gave me advice. You guys were my 'secret' friends who helped me build the courage to leave an abusive partner. Thank you to all of you. :yh_hugs

I know I was looking for a forum. I was in another forum that wasn't half as nice as this one and it went belly-up finacially. So I was without a forum for a couple months. I tried others but they all had agenda's. Agenda's that did not interest me. I was very lonely as I live out in the country with no contact with neighbors. Husband doesn't want to spend a awful lot of time with me. His job is his sweet-heart. Anyway i just knew if i kept looking I would finally find one and I DID. You guys are the finest and have made me feel welcome. You have a multitude of areas to go and chat. An especially your from all walks of life and countries. That makes life more interesting. Luv you all.:-4
It was the most diverse of all the forums and had the most topics. Also, I'm used to the forum software. That's why I picked it, but of course I'm staying with it because of y'all.

One day as I was shopping in the supermarket I came across the wine selection and was trying to decide between picking up a bottle of California or New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc to go with the Shrimp Scampi that I was going to prepare for dinner. Suddenly, a woman with a child in her cart ran into the back of my leg and made me wince with pain. She appologised profusely with an accent that I could not quite understand. I told her no harm done and we both continued shopping.
:-2 Am I still here, LC how the hell did I get here...anyone seen my shoes???
ALOHA!!

I was on safari hunting albino rhino when I got a call from my commanding special ops officer. He was sending me upriver from Da Nang into Cambodia to eliminate a certain Colonel gone bad.
He was camped out in the jungle with the local tribesmen, reaking havoc on military etiquette. After a few days asssesing the situation I succesfully quelled the Colonel.
Before I left I got to talking with a crazy photographer who mentioned Forum Garden to me and I said Id check into when I got stateside. He told me there were North Vietnamese cloaked as British women and Im here on recon now.

So after trying about 1/2 dozen I found this one and came to realize we are a well matched group. Mature and respetful. Smart, good looking, financially stable, comfortable with our sexuality, open, honest, clean living, no sexual inuendos, flirt free (almost, Far dont' count) and kind to everyone who enters sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo having sorted through that I stayed hehehehe

I was a member on other forums but they simply reeked (badly I might add,) so went looking for another and found FG. Now I'm hooked on the great conversations and great characters that reside amongst this fine place.
So much so that I've chained myself to my computer and spend at least 20 hours on here a day, (ok that last bit was a lie, really it is :wah: )

Isn't that funny, I found the same thing. Badly run other forums or.... they are just shoddy excuses to talk trash.

I have visited a few other forums but haven't signed up to any other than 2 Buddhist Forums, AGF which is a bit intellectual for me and BBC message boards for the Gardening topics.
Now I'm no prude....honest....but I have been shocked at some of the language and the viciousness of some of the postings in the 'other' forums....made me feel quite uncomfortable.
All I can say is that I am so happy to be here in the garden.....There's something for everyone....I'm sure that no one will ever want to leave.
Oh yes....and I discovered smileys here.....luv'em.....bez
