BTK Killer--Dennis Radman

This animal starts serving 10 consecutive life sentences for his crimes. His chances of surviving very long in prison look bleak as stated by authorities, and todays polls indicate that most people think he should not be protected from other inmates. This strikes me as hypocritical. If the authorities cannot protect him from other inmates then why not give him the death sentence to begin with?

Hi Lon...Dennis Rader was not eligible for death because the penalty was off the books during the years of the murders. and he will be protected from other inmates vis-a-vis protective custody. the dept. of corrections has that legal obligation.

another reason they have requested he have no writing materials is because of his penchant for drawing pictures of women in bondage and dead...it is hoped he won't have that little pleasure. and no magazines or papers so he can't enjoy photos of models.

Can they actually do that? Deny him magazines and writing materials? Really, if you think about it, what difference does it make if he has them? He can't do anythig where he is anymore...and pleasure? I would think it would be more like torture if he can't act out his fantasies anymore.

Hmmm...not sure how I feel about this. A killer's mind doesn't work the same way ours does, and if there's a chance, no matter how slight, that he COULD derive some pleasure in drawing or looking at pictures, I say don't let him have 'em. He's not entitled to any pleasure of any kind.

I understand the sentiment, but it's not reality. Some of these people, lifers especially, have just about every convenience. I was thinking in the future if he would have a lawsuit against the state. If others can read mags and have writing materials, why shouldn't he kind of thing? I'm not saying I wouldn't like to deprive him of every pleasure, including breathing, I'm just wondering out loud if they are really able to do that...and for how long. I would hate to have the state sued and the guy gets to go to court and have a sort life beyond prison and stay in the lime light.

actually, the DOC is an entity unto itself. they have every right to deny an inmate any object considered "detrimental to the safe and secure operation of the facility". they get sued by inmates all the time. but say some shrink or judge says rader should not have certain materials, that's it. all inmates are entitled to mail, in and out. so he may get a pencil, paper and envelope. but the officers can toss his cell anytime they wish for contraband. and all mail , in and out, is opened. that is to ensure that there are no escape plans or other illegal activities afoot. or contraband coming into the facility.

BTK Is a piece of work I watched a two hour special on this FREAK.. He is with out feeling for his victims. It is all about him 24/7 I got the chills watching him tell his story..

It took awhile but they finally got to Jeff Dahmer. Just a matter of time.
