American Presidential debate

Post by magentaflame »

It begins in about 20 mins.
I'm going to watch it for the very first time.
There is no audience. Only family members and close friends and they will be distanced .

What i hope is raised.
- trade with other countries
- the handling of the covid crisis
- the up and coming economic crisis (depression)

if they don't touch on those things why the heck have a debate?

Okay a bit of humour for first off the rank.

Biden has brought his performance enhancing drugs - Jersey brand Ice cream.
And has brought along some outdated apple ear pieces to plug into his phone.

I also want to know what each has to say about the BLM and all the protests and riots.

And I want to hear a Trumpism. I wan to hear what Trump actually thinks of himself. It's my guess it's along the lines of "JAY GOULD says he “can buy the vote of a farmer member of the legislature for the price of a bull calf.” Again he says, “I can hire one-half the farmers of the United States to shoot the other half to death.”

Trumps Mrs is the only one wearing a mask. Those behind her are not.

I'd also like to hear about the postal vote mess .....or is there a mess in the first place?

Do politicians always talk over the moderator? he won't shut up. Trump got rid of incilin because it was destroying families????
Trump is not debating he's just being conciliatory ....it's more sadly amusing than a academic debate.

After all of that . Biden spoke to the people into the camera. Go vote

Trump spoke about rigging fraud and fake news. He attacked Biden and how he won't accept the decision.

i now believe what they say about Trump ....He's the one standing there He's the one talking . There has been no fake news. He's an effing nutter and psychopath and definitely narcissist. Nobody can say fake news now. WOW!

I made it about 10 minutes in and had to switch it off. Trump is obnoxious on his good days, this was a blizzard of lies and bellowing over any attempt at rational discussion and debate. And the way he treated Biden while Biden talked about his dead son should enrage every military member past and present.

Trump's poll numbers are terrible and this performance won't help him at all. I'll be glad to see him gone.

Isn't that interesting? I seriously wanted to throw something at the TV about 15 to 20 mins in . you have to give it to Biden though, he handled it very well . I wouldn't have.

i even wanted to take our media to task because one of them said "it makes our debates look dull" ...No , it makes our debates civilized.. but when a man stands there as the president and says" if you pay taxes your stupid" come on! really?

He's not trying to get the votes of the enlightened. There's enough pranksters and patriots in America to bring him back for a second term and they admire the way his antics annoy moderate thinkers.

I'm sorry [not] that I missed it.
The man has taken up way too much of my consciousness in the last year or so, and I had no intention of giving him any more of my time than absolutely necessary.
It is bad enough that everywhere I go in this town, my vision is assaulted by his campaign posters.

There's one big difference this time. Trump's 2020 opponent doesn't have a vagina.

Good point. I knew at some point he would attack Bidens son...that's just nasty and irrellevent , but he couldn't help himself . and HIs personal far right group? He could call on them during a live debate? and now saying he doesn't know who they are but tells them today to stand down and stand back? He doesn't expect them to surround the white house does he?

I would like to vote for Trump it is only because I view him as a loathsome individual which holds me back. Methinks I should get over it.

Last time around I did not vote for Hillary or Don.

Well, this time I have a reason to vote, not for Biden. 8-)

I'd have thought that's the only reason the President will get his second term, the No-Biden voters lifting him over the edge.

The best comment I saw was in the Guardian: "This was the worst presidential debate in our history and a grievous national embarrassment. I can think of no reason to hold another such event so long as Trump is on the stage and the moderator lacks a mute button".

I am curious. What is your objection to Mr. Biden that would encourage you to cast a vote for such an objectionable buffoon as D Trump?

I'm going to guess he's going to say something about Biden being a socialist and under AOC's thumb.

A strong economy did eluce the Obama/Biden rule. At least some sense of border security is now visible.

I have yet to hear anything from Biden about the rioting, looting etc.from Democratic Ruled cities.

Nobody blames a government who has to govern during a recession or coming out of one.

I don't know why democratic cities are singled out when the riots are happening in rupublican cities as well.

So it's quite possible we won't see another debate. Trump doesn't want to be muted and as the moderator said, it would make no difference.

And now he miraculously has the virus....but "he's in good spirits and very strong". Can't wait for the Chronicles of Trump . A tale of a man who overcame the demons of all what the world had to throw at him. He's probably writing it down now.

That may be true.

The burning looting in a mass scale where police are ordered to stand down. :geek:

It is where local political ruled also often cut funding to police.
