Threats of violence to British Members of Parliament

Post by spot »

Might I just drop this into a thread? Nobody else seems to have discussed it.

DANIEL GOSHAWK, 32, of Vauxhall Barracks, Didcot, was convicted of two counts of assaulting a woman at Didcot on June 9 [2018]. He was made subject to a community order to include unpaid work for 100 hours and must pay a victim surcharge of £85 and court costs of £400.

The background to this week's intimidation is at https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... ela-rayner

The army and police are investigating after a soldier sent a death threat to the shadow education secretary, Angela Rayner, defence officials have said.

The commander of the British field army, Lt Gen Ivan Jones, and the defence secretary, Ben Wallace, denounced the message, which was posted on Twitter on Wednesday, as MPs pleaded with the prime minister to tone down his Brexit rhetoric, saying they feared it would incite violence against them.

Posting an image of the message online on Thursday, Rayner said it was just an example of the “usual vile tweet I get daily”. It read that she will “perish when civil war comes”, suggesting that people who voted for Brexit would be “gunning for blood if we don’t leave”.

The other words missing from the post must be illiterate misogyny, still a serving British Army NCO as far as I can see, and an abiding desire to kill socialists:

This, in retrospect, belongs here too.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence following an incident outside the constituency office of the Labour MP Jess Phillips, in which the suspect is reported to have banged on the windows and shouted “fascist”.

Phillips, who represents Birmingham Yardley, said her staff had to be locked in the office while the man tried to smash the windows.

She told LBC Radio: “I’ve only just heard about it myself, but my staff had to be locked into my office while the man tried to smash the windows and kick the door, I believe.

“I don’t know what I can say because the man has been arrested. But he was shouting that I was a fascist, apparently.”

West Midlands police confirmed a 36-year-old man had been arrested outside the office on Yardley Road in Acocks Green, Birmingham.

The incident came after Phillips tabled an urgent question to the Commons on the subject of inflammatory language.

Phillips has frequently spoken about the abuse she has received at the hands of internet trolls, including threats of rape.

Police are investigating comments by a Ukip candidate in the European elections speculating about whether he would rape the MP Jess Phillips amid growing concern over threats to politicians.

Carl Benjamin, Ukip’s candidate for South West England, sent a tweet to the MP for Birmingham Yardley in 2016 saying “I wouldn’t even rape you.” He added to the comments in a recent video saying: “With enough pressure, I might cave.”

West Midlands police confirmed officers were examining whether an offence had been committed.

What I find puzzling, annoying --- is the number of reasonably intelligent people who support johnson in his battle against parliament. and see him as a defender of democracy.

Presumably as distinct from truly intelligent people who perfectly understand his position .

Most people are completely unaware that the EDU demands that its members hand over complete Military and Intelligence control to Brussels .

Now there's a directive to induce a heart attack .
