Senator John McCain has decided to stop all medical treatment.

Family & medical team has stopped all treatment for the brain cancer which was diagnosed July 2017.

Family has gathered and medical staff states it's just a matter of time.

Senator John McCain I salute you.

I did not always agree with him, but I did always respect him.

Except for that Palin thing.

I never figured that out, really.

I respect him, even though I have often disagreed with his decisions. He is one of the few figures in Congress that I thought really had the best interests of the country as a goal.

I respect his decision to discontinue treatment.

Lars - Meghan McCain is a regular host on the view - Meghan, said "who" who is Palin? She couldn't explain that choice. Senator McCain had a good chance to be Pres..

Wandrin I also respect the decision to discontinue treatment.

I'll update as our local news is thoroughly covering this story.

Uh, he didn't learn from the Dan Quayle experiment.

This guy Trump manages to suck to air out of the room such that does anybody really know the name, Mike Pence?

What a life!

Ok, I don't understand the Palin thing either but when I think of an all-American hero John McCain pretty much fits the bill.

The contrast with Trump is stark.

Bad blood between McCain and Trump lingers, even as the Arizona Republican nears the end

The president was reportedly disinvited to McCain’s funeral months ago, after McCain’s battle with brain cancer took a turn for the worse, and now the veteran Arizona Republican senator has decided to discontinue medical treatment.

Throughout McCain’s illness, Trump has continued to publicly snub him — including a recent appearance in which the president declined to say McCain’s name when signing a bill that was named for him. As of late Friday, Trump had said nothing about McCain’s medical decision.

Not into his political views but sad to see the slow decline of an iconic figure.
The 'radical' left just wants everyone to have food, shelter, healthcare, education and a living wage. Man that's radical!....ooooohhhh Scary!

I suspect McCain picked Palin as his running mate trying to capture the younger vote, (She was in her 40's at the time) as well as gain the women's vote. Strictly a political move on his part, he certainly did not pick her for her outstanding qualifications!

Senator John McCain passed away in their home up North - Sedona AZ area.

John McCain is now being transferred to a Mortuary in Phoenix AZ.

Streets are lined with hundreds of people - some on the over passes - their holding flags - hundreds as Senator John McCain's Motor Cade drives by.

All the freeway/highway on ramps are closed off as the motor cade proceeds.

Hundreds waiting at the Mortuary - amazing Respect.

PHOENIX — In his final words to the nation before his passing, Sen. John McCain delivered a veiled rebuke of President Trump, calling on Americans to rally behind the country’s founding ideals rather than hiding behind walls and succumbing to political tribalism.

Any likelihood that trump's disrespect towards McCain will dent his support amongst those who claim to be patriotic? To use McCain's words it was wrong" for wealthy Americans to avoid being drafted into the US army during the Vietnam War.

I note also Mueller is also a Vietnam vet maybe that's why trump seems to hate him so much.

His disrespect is not news and Trump sycophants don't see to care.

The system was corrupt from the start around 1860 Cuvuk War.

Not only Muller is a vet, but a hero and Trump can stuff it.

Robert Mueller’s military career, detailed in documents, was brief but remarkable

Did you think he was great when he was running for President? Because most Liberals were mocking him and putting him down during that time. It wasn't until he opposed Trump that he is suddenly a hero with Democrats.

Senator John McCain will "Lay at State" Wed. 8/29/18 at the capital of Arizona.

Senator will "Lay at State" in WA D.C.. Buried at the Naval Academy .

Senator John McCain has now left a open seat. Arizona Governor will not announce a replacement until all the McCain ceremony is over.

Cindy McCain could very likely be chosen to replace the Senate seat..? what do you think? possible or not?

it wasn't until our news stated this - I thought really - due to marriage she could take John's Senate seat

It is up to the Governor to choose his replacement and I would be shocked if he chooses Cindy.

Tude Dog I didn't realize Cindy was a possibility.

I don't expect the Governor to choose Cindy.

Watching all the formalities - they nearly dropped the casket.

it's obvious Meghan was John's little girl - Meghan was/is a mess - looks a little sedated.

Thousands are lining up - standing in our heat @ 106 to pay respects at the Capital.

Amazing

I sure hope not. We need someone who will overturn Obamacare socialized medicine. Since that horrible law took effect, insurance rates have skyrocketed and medical care has gotten worse. You have to wait a long time now for treatment whereas before it was just a few days to wait for an appointment. Socialism is a failure every time, yet they won't stop trying to make a failed system work. It's like a mental illness that these socialist ideologues have.

Don't understand the logic, but that has been done many times in the History of the Country, not yet in Arizona.

Watching both former presidents Bush & Obama was interesting, especially Obama.

I am no fan of President Obama, but Trump came along to make him look good.

President Obama speaking at McCain's funeral He noted that McCain “championed a free and independent press that’s vital to our democratic debate,” a clear swipe at Trump’s repeated attacks on the news media.

And taking on politics directly, Obama addressed Trump without ever saying his name...

“So much of our politics can seem small and mean and petty. Trafficking in bombast and insult, phony controversies and manufactured outrage. It’s a politics that pretends to be brave and tough, but is instead born of fear. John called on us to be bigger than that, to be better that that,” Obama said. “Today is only one day in all the days that will ever be, but what will happen in all the other days will depend on what you do today. What better way to honor John McCain than follow his example.”

I watched the good bye to Senator John McCain from A-Z..

What a send off .

I was very proud of Meghan McCain - her eulogy / speech was dynamite.

My question - Az Governor can choose whom to fill John's position & I realize Cindy could be a choice - could Meghan fill her father's position? Is Meghan in position to be a choice?

I think this Meghan McCain will run for pres. - She is her father..

Lars - I figured out "OF Course" - When Sonny Bono died his wife fulfilled his position.
