My week in a nut shell.

Post by magentaflame »

Been in Melbourne for the last couple of weeks doing a course .....yes another one. I finished my cert 11 and popped my application in for my license. Just finished cert 111 in security ops this week and on to the you beaut stuff. baton and handcuffs, Screening, Monitoring operator and control room operator. All handy attainments to have. and I'm telling you this because I'd like to put my name down for the Commonwealth games .....but we'll see what they pay first.

Came back home for the weekend just to get out of the city GOD I HATE THE CITY!!!!

i just had a lovely chat with a fox that's been hanging around recently. Lovely looking thing he is. He has a lovely coat and tail.

Back on the bus this morning to the big smoke and the drudgery of a sore back after four hours of sitting on a bus seat that doesn't adjust.. Oh well...... it will be worth it. I hope the boys who are fasting this week in class keep up their good humour.

Well this week I've decided to do the armed guard course, but not just yet. (best to have some industry experience first, I know some who do the course straight off the bat and they've never even handled a firearm before. Personally I don't believe that's wise)

So control room and monitoring course is out of the way. (very involved job ) And after two days of baton and handcuffs, I'm studying this weekend for the closed book exam on Monday. And I'm sure you guys aren't surprised to hear that I yell at offenders "perfectly" ......hee hee hee If I'm needing you to back off.....you're going to do just that.

It was interesting watching a few videos of police in America making mistakes and ending up brain dead and on life support. Scary ****! I'm hoping I'll never need to use these tactics because my job will not (I hope ) require it. ........but it may.....so I've also decided to keep up with defensive training tactics. Just to keep my eye in.

Cold rainy weekend .....perfect hot Milo and study conditions.

I was wondering if it was a new event for the Gold Coast Games at first. Honest.
Hey Clod! It could be mate ......It could well be.

I thought that voice came in the Mum Kit that gets handed out in maternity wards. (The one that also provides fully functioning organisational skills where none had previously existed and an obsession with the complete cleanliness of the entire planetary environment. Among other things.)

edit: and what is a hot Milo???

Well back in Gippsland again ...... and there's been a hiccup. Got a letter saying that my application has been temporarily discontinued due to the fact the piece of paper! The "application form" itself is out of date and I have to go back to my "suitibility references" and have them fill out the reference part AGAIN!

I had another application form that looked up to date but on closer inspection it had been revised 05/16 then I look at the paperwork the licensing department sent me and it's revision date is 11/16..... so if they revise these applications every six months the revisional paperwork is also technically out of date.

I HATE BUREAUCRACY!!!!

but then they send me my payment notice.........so they still want the money with no way of knowing if I'll get the references by the due date!!! and of course there's no refund. I just have to hope that my second reference hasn't gone away for the school holidays.

Welcome to my bloody day.

Job provider is cutting it fine with my payment notice.....which is majorly pissing me off.

Then i come back to my car where i parked it yesterday and find an unsolicited note on my windscreen. " please do not (not being underlined twice) park here....bus turns." WTF?

Ive been parking in that same spot for around seven years!!!!! Suddenly one of the school buses cant turn out of its parking area? WTF?

Rang the council, rang VicRoads, took some pics, rang the bus company!

You know what? Ill park where ive always parked ....**** em! And if the new bus driver would like some lessons in driving ill be more than happy to help!

Then i ring my car insurance mob to get my windsccreen fixed. I get one free windscreen every policy year. (Yes of course if its damaged) so give them a ring, they contact a contractor and alls good....... just to be told by the contractor i need to pay another $124 dollars for the rubber. WTF?

So i ring the insurance company again im told this....." if you dont need to remove the rubber its not covered, if removed with the windscreen its covered." Ring back the contractor..... tell. 'Rob' what the go is and he says its all good "ha ha ha worst case scenario is you pay the extra cost"

Me: "ha ha ha Rob, that would very much be the worst case scenario for ME!....HA HA HA NOT FOR YOU THOUGH....see you next monday"

Sometimes, somedays youd be forgiven for thinking someone is trying to ream you a new arsehole with a pineapple....spikey end first !

So.....heres the thing right?

I ealk into the garage to get some kindling to light the fire and hear a ehistle nehind me

Look around, but nobodys there..

Go back to what im doing and hear something again.

I walk outside the garage and a bird is sitting on the fence looking at me.

Gets off the fence and onto the eood pile closer to me. I put my finger out but it backs away.

No big deal and head for the house.....calling over my shoulder. "Watch out for yhe cat".

I open the back door and next minute.....SWOOSH! FLUTTER!..... SCREAM!..........(THE SCREAM ACTUALLY CAME FROM ME).

Well you'd scream too if you had a bird suddenly stuck to your scalp.

So the bloody little bugger flys off my head onto the kitchrn table then proceded to attack yhe bowl of fruit! He yanks a banana out anf begins to settle into dinner.

So...ive now calmed down and go ovrr to retrieve the banana........i now have six holes in my fingers on my left hand.

Ummmmmm..... im not sure how its all happened....im still a bit shocked.

<----------- meet Toni.....the rainbow lorikeet. I think hes staying. Hes made himself quite comfy.

Okay, so his name is Lori. I know this because he just told me. And he's a good boy and he's hungry .... come on.

Being corrected by a bird first thing in the morning is all too much. I better find his owner. Hey maybe he knows his address too?

Hahahaha! Yeah! If it's a designated parking spot they can just take a running leap at themselves!" I Love It!

So i ring the insurance company again im told this....." if you dont need to remove the rubber its not covered, if removed with the windscreen its covered." Ring back the contractor..... tell. 'Rob' what the go is and he says its all good "ha ha ha worst case scenario is you pay the extra cost"

Yeah, that sort of happened to me in the 80's. My girlfriend's window was smashed to steal her car radio. (In broad daylight at a supermarket?!) So she goes to the parts store orders one and prepays for it. Then, when she goes to pick it up, they tell her, "It was more expensive than we quoted you so you have to pay the difference."

So I went down there with my Air Force Officer's uniform on and told the clerk, "The transaction is done. We have the receipt, unless you'd like to tangle with the Air Force's lawyers. They're very good, and free for me...but probably not for you."

I walked out with the window.

Hee hee hee well done saint.

Oh should give an update. ..... the windscreen went in and the rubber and new aluminum stripping looks a treat.... and yes i got my brand new windscreen that my insurance has already payed for. :)

And my application was accepted and rubber stamped and i now have my security lisence. And now i have yo immediately amend it because i did other lisence outcome courses whilst waiting for it to go through.

Lifes funny eh?

So heres what has been happening behind the scenes (and if you think ive been a bit snippy lately itd probably why) my avatar is a picture of my car......well....most of it.

I thought id do an overhaul of my 91'subaru brumby.

I dont say this very often and will probably deny it in the future but...

I MADE A MISTAKE!

I made a mistake in taking word of mouth as a recomendation. Continuing with the spray painting of my car even after i thought something was wrong. Giving a person the benefit of the doubt. Etc etc etc.

Ive now had to buy a mechanics manual....my mechanic is so sorry for encouraging me to go to this spray painter after looking at the result and how i got the vehicle back.....three months ive been witjout a car.

Just so angry and pissed off and .......i dont know :( ....lesson in life i suppose.

And yes ive rung consumer affairs and i do have a case against him, just based on one of the things he did....but all this happened while my son was sick and im running around looking for work......sooooo VCATis not on the cards.

AND then i find out hes done this very thing to others. Fraud....extortion...theft....the list goes on.

Okay things are looking up.

I got the job. It's weird when you hear " I've been watching you" And you think to yourself " no you haven't" then you remember there's there's a bazillion cctv cameras everywhere and suddenly you feel a little creeped out. lol but apparently I asked questions that others havent asked after working there for months....so I'm either a bit switched on, or a nosey bastard. Which ever, it helped anyway . Now just to find a place to live in a large busy city . OMG! the rents are ridiculas!!!

Thanks Lars.....yeah youre right Saint.

This flatshare thing is a little daunting though. People are a little precious .... no nightshift workers, cant have any visitors.... heres a new one "blazing the herb" wth? Never heard it put like that before.

And it is beginning to become a little clearer how people work their own worlds too. For instance, ive noticed that if someone lets out rooms for say$200 each for four people they are not only living fir free but making a profit . That grates a bit at my socialist bones.
