Transgender issue that isn't. Just stirring the pot, IMO

NBA mulls relocating 2017 All-Star Game over new NC anti-discrimination law | Fox NewsRepublican Gov. Patrick McCrory approved a bill earlier in the day barring local laws that would extend anti-discrimination protection to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender residents.

The move came after the state’s Republican-controlled General Assembly sharply criticized a new Charlotte ordinance that would strengthen such protections, including the ability for transgender people to use restrooms matching their gender identity.

The city ordinance, championed by Democratic Mayor Jennifer Roberts, was to take effect on April 1.

What a load of cr*p!

No one asks me if I am male or female when I go into a public restroom. Why would it come up for anyone else?



If you are dressed like a male and walk like a male into a public restroom and head for a stall because you need to sit down - who is gonna check your credentials before you sit down?

Same for if you are dressed as a woman. Unless you walk up to a sink and pull it out to pee, who is to know what equipment is getting the job done for you.

There are enough serious issues facing the Transgender community that giving folks a reason to create a law against something like this was just plain stupid. They have now pulled the right to protect against important discrimination away from the individual cities.

How does the state intend to check on people using a restroom? Are they going to hire people to do pat downs or do they want a chromosome check?
