Banned AGAIN

I have a little issue going on and was hoping to get some input....

I joined a forum back in Feb at my sisters suggestion. I had never heard of forums before but quickly became hooked. My very first forum was full of very nice ladies and I got to know some of them by posting a lot and visiting the site several times a day. I got along with everyone and never tried to instigate any conflict (and never did by the way).

A few weeks go by, and I'm all of sudden banned from the site. I'm informed later that my sis and admin had gotten into it and after my sis got banned, she just banned me too. No warning, no reason, just banned. Not such a bad thing really as I found this place

So time goes by, my sis and admin work out their problem and everyone is reinstated again. A bit of a pain as I lost my post count and a bit peeved at being banned to begin with, but know how misunderstanding can go and let it go.

So time goes by again, admin bans me again and that time, I'm not even sure why. But, sis was banned first, and I just wrote it off as banned by association.

So a few months go by, and sis calls and says she's been allowed back on that particular forum and I am too (possibly due to low traffic). Convinced I will be banned again at some point, I go ahead and join, mostly to see how the people I barely got to know at one time are doing.

And BAM, today I am banned once again......Thats three times. Shame on me for even allowing it to get to a point where I can get unjustly banned from a site THREE times, before actually calling it quits.

Anyone else have a similar story of a time when they were unjustly banned? Or done something as stupid as returning to a forum twice so that admin can pull a power trip and ban you? You think I would have learned a lesson.

Boy, that's a tough one, Devistate, I know EXACTLY how you feel. As a memeber of a board, you begin to feel like a friend or a family member, to be banned is to be rejected from the group, and that can really, really hurt!

I was the Global MOD on a board that had a lot of my friends on it. It was only my second board, I originally got into the forum scene at CodeJunkies, a forum for videogamers. That board got closed down (mostly because some of the extremely high post-counters began to think it was their personal forum), but I got invited to mod the board where most of the members moved.

I really took my job seriously, I took it as a great honor. I tried very hard to do as little "modding" as possible. I mean, without the free exchange of ideas, boards get stale, don't they? But another mod had a problem with me, he was homosexual and didn't like the fact that I refused to close a thread debating that topic. (and debating it very politely, I might add.)

Well, one day while I was offline, this other global mod (who was a 16 year old kid) decided that he didn't want to share power with me anymore. He actually banned me behind my back! (It's considered the greatest of infractions for mods to ban each other, but he did it!)

After a while, the board owner found out what had happened, and he apologized and unbanned me, so I'm free to travel there again. But it's just not the same anymore. I guess I just don't feel like hanging out with that group anymore. It really hurts the feelings! Nowadays, I have two or three "other" boards that I can hang out with, just to forestall anything like that happening again.

A similar thing happened here recently, I went to the mod forum to check on things and found out that I didn't have the premission to go there. There's a restructuring going on, and Tombstone and Anastrophe (the board owners) have told me that it's only a temporary thing and soon all will be restored, but ...

it still "stings" a bit, doesn't it? :-1

From what I have seen here in the Garden, it really takes a lot to get banned!

I just saw on another Board, someone get Banned for using words in all "capital letters"!!! Go figure? Their Admin said words in all capital letters is like shouting at the other person! :-2

banned know the word well. i have been to different sites also. in my opinion in realtion to my personality to rid someone is a control issue for some, offensive material, stalking, taunting etc, needs to be addressed. the sites that bann that easily are idiots stay away from there. good people removed makes the place boring, FG is very good about who they keep. :-6

That is just crazy, and sorry to hear they did that to you. Banning by association is garbage.

Been there done that. Not because I was related to a banee, but because I totally supported thebanee.

I dunno devi, I would be inclined to steer clear of such a poorly managed board.

i think you were a banned babe too, maybe? i have read the comments. you certainly aren't queen of the banned...you have to beat us and be banned 4 times at least. anyway...you make me laugh. glad you found a way around it...or made up. you add a lot of humor to this place.

i had trouble with forum etiquette. simple. and don't call me babe or hon i hate that when someone younger than me calls me those names. i am 48 and full of hell. there have been members that have taunted me to bite back. you know how BACK BITING can get. I guess their wings are broken they haven't been around. there are still a few who could use a beating with a tension curtain rod! :wah:
