At first I thought it might be a money grab, now there is way too much smoke for there to not be a fire. One of the biggest falls of a well liked celebrity I've ever seen.

It's very similar to what happened In the UK with the Savile scandal, In that alleged victims stayed quiet for decades on the basis that at the time, no-one would take their word over a high profile celebrity.
I don't know... like most cases like these, It's easy to prejudge before the evidence Is heard In court. Yet, one of his alleged victims, Janice Dickinson has always struck me as being a pretty genuine person and the way she recounts what happened to her, I have to say, It sounds pretty convincing.

I see the number of reported sexual assaults now stands at 27. There's at least one more story not mentioned in the following article which is told by a third party.

A sad way to end a once great career.
I find myself hoping that he is actually guilty, for the simple reason that his career is all but ruined, now, and the only way he would deserve that is if he did, in fact, do what he is accused of.

I'll believe the women that he did it alright. They have nothing to gain by coming forward and everything to lose. These ladies are aged now and their careers are over. Many of them are retired from their younger professions and they know that's over for them due to the aging process. That's why Cosby's mouthpiece claiming this is for attention rings hollow after five minutes of thought.
Cosby won't even acknowledge whether or not he did in fact know these ladies (I think he's said that he doesn't recall one or two names). That's pretty telling too.
It's a funny thing about many whites when it comes to their blacks. Many whites will never admit they got their blacks (n.....s) wrong. We know that they're guilty regardless of the evidence showing otherwise. Likewise we know that the "ones" we've accepted cannot be guilty of this sort of disgusting conduct regardless of how the evidence stacks up against them. The similarities in events is plenty of evidence for the court of public opinion, imv.
While this behavior of Bill Cosby's should land him in prison, it won't. There is however another travesty apparent here and that is that of a large segment of a white society that is so racist that it can't change it's mind regarding its slaves; they're either born just or they're born evil, and we've decided Bill Cosby is a 'just' black (n....r) no matter what.
And what does this say about how we whites men view the credibility of 'our own' females?
Just ridiculous!
Then there's the issue of the men in the lives of these ladies. Where were they? In deed, where are they now? I'll tell you this; if I ever got wind that any person, white/black/male/female had ever done this to any female in my family they'd have a serious problem on their hands, meaning I'd kick their ass from here to eternity.

Pretty weird of you to turn this into a thing about race.
There are a number of men who probably did the same thing, and I am sure that they are not all black.
The problem that I see is that women in the 60s and 70s would allow such behavior to go unpunished, because if they said anything, their own careers would be ruined.
And men in "the business" took full advantage of that environment.
Having said that, there is still the notion in this country that one is innocent until proven guilty.

Nothing other than telling any journalists that have the gall to ask him about it that they should be ashamed of themselves.
As for the reporting this earlier? Look what happened to the ladies who did report it in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Nothing!

Whether he did what he is accused of or not, to say that the women who are making the accusations have nothing to gain is not exactly true. It's always one of the factors that arises in such celebrity cases, and that is the monetary value, not only of compensation, or even an 'out of court settlement' in order not to procede, whether there's a case to answer for or not, but cash that's going to be readily available from the gutter press for their 'exclusive rights' to the story.
It's probably in the very psychological nature of those in the public eye to be an assertive nature, which is quite likely to be driven to reveal itself sexually, so there is probably going to be a slightly higher level of celeb sex crimes, proportionately, to everyday people. But it makes me wonder what the ratio of actual crimes & reported crimes is when comparing celebs & ordinary people. I suspect that a much higher proportion actually get reported when celebs are involved, leading to the question of motive for reporting that something (allegedly) took place - especially when it happens years after the event.

Well, it IS kinda of a gender issue, I reckon. And Cosby (assuming his guilt, that is) is just the latest in a long list of men who have used their fame, fortune, and power to take advantage of young women trying to make a career in the business. It is pretty revolting behavior, coming from a person who made a career from the image of a family man and a person of integrity.
I do hope that justice is actually served, and it does not just turn into a lynching.

But why did it have to be him? Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Denzel Washington, Chris Tucker, Will Smith, Sam L. Jackson, maybe even Morgon Freeman could be taken with little more than a raised eyebrow. But Bill Cosby! He got upset with Lisa Bonet when she posed for a centre fold! I can imagine what the Klan is saying. “OJ Simpson, Bill Cosby ¦.. “

My question is why would a man do something like drug a woman, when he did not have to? Why would a Bill Cosby even need to? The woman is with you at home or in some hotel, she is there willingly, and you are Bill Cosby,, everything is already in your favor to have a romantic night; so why change that into rape? And then why did they let him get away with rape? I mean not just one woman being foolish enough to let him get away with it, but over 20?
No lawsuits for 30 years? No police reports. No pregnancys.
Either he is super seducer, extremely smart in picking his targets, or something is fishy??

Either he is super seducer, extremely smart in picking his targets, or something is fishy??This really isn't a matter of whether or not you would have had voluntary sex with Cosby had you been one of his victims. It is however a question of whether or not any of these females wanted to have sex with him. For the most part the answer seems to be a resounding "NO THANK YOU".
Why do you assume that just because a female is alone in a room with Bill Cosby, sex must be on the agenda?

When I was that age and had one alone with me and drinking, it was always on my agenda. I never had one come to a hotel room with me and drink, just to talk and be casual. But that was me when I was young. And I had way more than 24 back then, and they all were willing. But they all were not stupid, its what they wanted to do.
And I am not saying the man was right IF he did it; he is dead wrong IF he did; I am saying this whole thing stinks of fish; something isn't right.
How are we going to let the worlds greatest serial rapist, become an American Icon and ledgend? Oh so now we all are stupid?

Cosby has not admitted even having had consensual sex with these women. Most were underage at the time so if he did admit that he'd be opening himself up to charges of sex with minors at the very least. BTW, we're not talking about any American icon and legend here, we're talking about a guy who played a character in a television sitcom which the public just can't seem to stop projecting him as. Bill Cosby is not, was not and never will be the Huxtable character that made him an American sweetheart.

I've always believed that anyone who commits a crime - any crime - should have to answer for them. However, I can never help but wonder about the veracity of those that make the accusations years after the event - especially when there is the potential for massive compensation payments. And even if they lose the case, the tabloids will still pay them a fortune for their stories.
I know the Americans have their Term of something or another (I forget the word offhand), where a person cannot be tried for something after I think 3 years, except in the case of Federal Offences, which Rape & Murder etc are included. Perhaps there should be something similar introduced to the UK, with a secondary limit for other grades of offences. After all, even if both parties believe what they are saying, time corrupts memories & irrefutable hard evidence is rarely to be found & has to rely on the hearsay of witnesses who are either biased in their views, often being a friend of the plaintiff, standing to gain something or, at best, mistaken in their own memories of the event.
Even when there is a 'fresh' rape case, which has been reported within hours, Police Forensic Teams have to work as quickly as possible in order to gether sufficient evidence for a prosecution, and even then there can often be doubt as to whether the evidence is admissible due to not having been gathered soon enough. When just a day or two is enough to cast doubt on an everyday case, how the hell can anyone prove, beyond shadow of doubt something that happened decades ago?
Someone has to question the motives of the accusers.

That's the problem with this. Cosby doesn't answer any questions, the women answer all the questions, and Cosby is the recipient of much of the good will of the general public. See how difficult it is to accuse now? It was much, much harder decades ago.
Sometime in the late 60's one of my sisters was sexually attacked while walking home one night, she was probably around 17 years old. My parents called the police. My sister was wearing a mini dress as I recall. The police looked her up and down and asked why she was out walking around at night wearing a mini dress. That's how this was viewed back then and it isn't that much different now.
My four daughters have often told me about being harassed by mostly older men.

He had enough honey to lure in those women , and whatever happened, its ridiculous for a woman to try and explain it 35 years later. Once on a dating site , a woman was surprised that I did not want to date her. I lived in Warren, Michigan at the time, her in California. I told her, why in the world would I date a woman over a thousand miles away from me , when I could date one 5 miles away?
Why cry rape 35 years later, when you can cry about it to police 35 minutes later?

What has bothered me lately is Camille Cosby's public response. She was married to him then, the mother of his children and is still married to him now. I think she is a beautiful woman and have always thought so. But the public persona of her now is like a "Stepford Wife". I know there must be considerable pain behind her facade, even if the allegations are false.

Why cry rape 35 years later, when you can cry about it to police 35 minutes later? You really should stop referring to young girls as women; it's rather reminiscent of another Bill, though that ones name is Clinton.

Camille Cosby, another victim of controversy? (Opinion) - CNN.com
Camille Cosby Compares Allegations Against Bill Cosby To Rolling Stone UVA Rape StoryShe's only surviving as best she knows how to. It's very unfortunate what he's done to the people he's supposedly loved all these years. He was using them as shields and now they all pay now that the chickens are coming home to roost.
The man is sickening.

The sixties and seventies were the time of drugs, sex and rock and roll. Everyone was doing all of the above.

An updateBill Cosby testified in 2005 that he got Quaaludes with the intent of giving them to young women he wanted to have sex with, and he admitted giving the sedative to at least one woman and "other people," according to documents obtained Monday by The Associated Press.
The AP had gone to court to compel the release of the documents; Cosby's lawyers had objected on the grounds that it would embarrass their client.https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... 2980,d.cWw
