It's currently 92 degees here. I live in an upper flat with no air conditioning. I am getting ready for work, and all my makeup is smooshy and half-melted. I'm going to be late for work because I need to let it sit in the freezer for a few before I can use it. The really funny thing is, it will probably all melt right off my face before I even get to work. *sigh* Oh well...I still LOVE SUMMER!!!!

I know the feeling! Maybe not with the makeup but the heat! It's the same temp here plus so bloody humid you struggle for a breath. Thank Allah for AIR CONDITIONING!! I turned my home unit on last week! I'll take 10 inches of snow & 10 below zero over this crap!!
"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group that believes you can do these things. Among them are a few Texas millionaires, or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid." Abbey, that's sweet, and I think true!!
I wish it would get hot for me!! I spent the first half of my life so far in
places where it was really hot all summer long, and now I'm HERE where
this morning it was so cold (HOW COLD WAS IT?
) I actually wore
my ear muffs to take my morning walk! And for about 3 weeks now it's
been really windy every day, and my allergies have kicked up worse than
ever before, to the point where I'm living on Claritin and staying in the
house all day!! Sheesh! At least we don't have the "June Gloom" set in
yet... but where the heck is global warning when ya need it?!?!?
Thanks for asking, BR, sending a little cool your way through the thought
process!!

Well. - at 10am here the official temp was 92 F and the humidity 80%!
Not a very nice prospect today as they're calling for it to max out at 98 around 5pm.
Of course we complain every summer forgetting the snows of winter.
The problem in PA is that it never does anything by halves!
We had around 10 days of Spring this year while it went from Winter to Summer almost overnight!
Our friends from England arrive tomorrow looking to escape their' bl**dy weather' (their words - not mine). As tomorrow promises to first 'triple digit' day of the summer they will be going from one extreme to the other.
Oh well - at least they're not arriving in August when it really gets hot!
P.S to David - delighted to learn that you're not wearing makeup.

i gave up on serious makeup a long time ago in this florida weather...but a little loose powder is nice, applied lightly with a big makeup brush, ~~~and try maybelline waterproof eyeliner, i can dive all day in the ocean and it stays put. and a tinted lip balm is a necessity. :-6

Same here LC. The powder takes the shine off your face and the eyeliner is still on after being in the water. I'm not very good at diving just swimming.

Ya know just thinking out loud, you could really get an Air Conditioner that mounts through the window opening. Just get a little sheet of clear Plexiglass to fill the open space that the A/C doesn't take up. Use Duct tape to hold the Plexiglass in place and seal out bugs. They work great, and cost less than $100, and plugs into a regular 110v wall outlet. We have one that my wife had when she was still single, it's over 40 years old now and still gives off ice cold air. It's kind of a thing now, just to see how long it will last!!! It's a GE. :-6
(When it finally breaks down, you can rest assured it will be replaced by a new one the same day. Melting of the makeup in our house is not an option!)

I moved from Florida to Minnesota to get away from the oppressive, stifling, sweltering, makeup melting, constant non stop, ever brutalizing, jungle weather.
Its hot here now but at least it goes away.
