Are you a slave to God or is God your slave the way he should be?

God, behold the only thing greater than yourself, ---- should be the caption and words in this clip.

Behold The Only Thing Greater Than Yourself - YouTube

Without mankind to recognize the idea of a God, God would not exist. This is an obvious truth.

Only you can make you voluntarily do anything. This also is an obvious truth.

That all important capability shows that men and women and their wills are greater than God and his will. This is what Jesus taught. Paraphrase, the Sabbath was created for man, not man for the Sabbath. Man is to rule religion and not religion rule man.

Alan Watts - On The Book of Eli - YouTube

Only man’s will is being expressed here on earth and man need not kowtow to the man-made idols and religions we have invented.

That is the message Jesus tried to convey and that Rome corrupted because sheep are easier to control than goats.

The Sabbath was made for man. Not man for the Sabbath. We can do as we choose.

Which God do you idolize instead of stepping up yourself to recognizing that you are greater than God?

Or do you recognize that you are greater than any God?

Are you a slave to God or is God your slave the way he should be?

Neither. Firstly, if you really wanted to be pedantic, how do you know that we're the only sentient species in the whole of the universe, the only race which is capable of divine inspiration and of recognising the idea of a God? You don't. And why should God require our recognition for his existence? Does that mean that God only came into existence when the first modern humans evolved, when they attained sentience? In which case, did the entirety of creation up until that point in time spring from nothing? God is not your slave, not some Genie bound to his magic lamp at our beckon call. Humility is considered a positive trait, and Pride a negative trait, in any belief system, religion or culture. Humanity, in its entirety, is nothing compared to God.

But we are not God's slaves. We possess free will, we possess sentience and conscious thought, and these traits serve as proof of that fact. Otherwise, we would have no purpose for our existence and actions, any more than the individual grains of sand in a barren desert. All religions are created by mankind, laid down by individuals in their yearning for truth and the aspiration to attain greater spirituality, and passed down, selectively for the most part, by people with agendas of their own. So the Sabbath was made for Man; Religions were made for man, even our different interpretations of God (or Gods) were interpreted by us, for us. But this doesn't mean that God is nothing more than a construct.

So to you, something that is clearly a man-made construct is not constructed by man.:-5:-5

I agree that we have created all of our God's.

Is the sun a human construct? The Earth? The chemical elements? Life? Are these all human constructs, none of which would exist if not for our own existence? Because by this logic, there would be no universe for us to be born into, and humanity should have never come into being. A species doesn't just magically spring into being when it's scientifically catalogued for the first time; they must already exist prior to their discovery for them to be discovered in the first place, living out their lives from ancient times regardless of our ignorance to them. The same must be true of all things, including God.

And goblins and unicorns.

You are on a slippery slope. Where do you stop when you start to believe in imaginary constructs.

Think of the infinitesimal chance of our coming into being. Of the big bang taking place, of a relatively stable yet dynamic universe forming from it, of our own Sun coming into being, of the infant Earth surviving in its perfect orbit instead of being flung out of the solar system or obliterated as so many of the other planetesimals were; of primitive life being born from the chemical soup, of the emergence of multicellular life, of the survival of all the stages along the evolutionary pathway which ultimately led to us. Taking all of these things into account, and looking at the margins of error involved, the notion of intelligent design, and by extension God's existence, is perhaps the most scientifically sound theory possible. You'd have a higher margin of error, and hence more logical room for doubt, attempting to prove the existence of air, or making the assertion that the world is round. Everything requires faith, my friend. Think about it...

Neither, god does not exist except to those who choose to believe in such things and basically they make god in the manner they want to believe.

That question, would have to be a topic worthy of a whole new thread. Only God the almighty can answer that question...

I have faith in the notion that no God would be stupid enough as to choose the one of many realities that he could have created, that included his becoming a genocidal son murderer.

Please meet an intelligent person.

Exactly. Christian sects are so spread out in theologies that one must ask how many wives each Jesus allows and which planet he is from.

Who said that to many, their Gods seem to hate everyone they do.

We all create our own Gods. Gnostic Christians know this and so did Jesus.

That is why I promote internalizing myths. Access to God is within us.

Tell me, do Gnostics believe that Ego and/or Pride are sins? Because if so, that would be very hard to reconcile with your attitude to the nature of God.

Good luck as we have no clue as to the nature of the Christian God.

Are you not proud of your children and how you have raised them?

I am.

Are you not proud of the fact that your choice in a wife and friends was correct?

I am.

Is that the type of pride we are talking about?

Who has a greater degree of pride than the bible God?

He is the epitome of all attributes is he not and that would make him the greatest good and the greatest evil.

So how is it possible for you to preach his word?

We are talking about Pride, as in the polar opposite of Humility.

Very few people, and it would be hard to view anyone that did as anything other than a headcase- but those who would presume to be his creators, and who believe that the entirety of creation including God would not have existed if they themselves had not imagined it into being, have to be ranked among them.
