They Shall Come From The East ...

Post by jones jones »

You may or may not have heard of East Turkestan, land of the Uyghurs, a Muslim country slightly smaller than Iran, with extensive oil reserves. It is occupied by China, but with the world’s attention on the Middle East it is out of the spotlight. Among the gross violations of human rights perpetrated there by China are:

the detonation of more than forty five nuclear devices rendering large chunks of the country uninhabitable and causing a very high incidence of cancer & birth defects.

when first occupied it was 93% Muslim but today only 50% as the Chinese government forces them to practice abortions.

in an attempt to destroy the Uighur culture, China has tried to force them to give up their Arab-based script. The Uighur have refused and as a result are denied access to schools and education

Uighur can be imprisoned if they refuse to eat during daylight in Ramadan as China attempts to deny them their identity and culture.

China insists that Uighur mosques display pictures of communist leaders and that Imams must preach favourable about Communism in their sermons.

These are only a handful of abuses suffered by these now “invisible” people with not even Islam doing anything to ease their plight.

China also occupies Tibet and according to a UN report the Chinese imprison, torture, rape and degrade Tibetans on a massive scale. The number of Tibetans killed since the Chinese invasion is estimated at over a million and more than 6000 monasteries have been destroyed.

Formerly one of the most peaceful countries in the world, Tibet has been transformed into a military base with 20 secret radar stations, 15 military airfields, 5 missile bases near the Indian border and a secret nuclear power station near lake Ko-Ko.

Yet today the mainstream media says next to nothing about the struggle & hardships of the Tibetans.

Many other peoples in regions across the globe are being denied their basic human rights due to the occupation of their land by others including:

The Palestinians, the Kurds, the Kabylian Berbers of Northern Algeria, the Western Saharans and the Northern Cyprians. But just like the people of East Turkestan and Tibet, these people too are invisible and ignored by the rest of the world.

However if the USA had been involved, a feeding frenzy of media attention and condemnation would have been unleashed simply because America stands almost alone as the last true defender of freedom.
