Why is it-----that we call smaller animals in a high pitched voice? Like---here kitty, kitty,kitty. We don't call a large dog in a high pitched voice. Same with babies.

One of my cats, Buffy, knows how to meow, but she only does it in the carrier on her way to visit her doctor. Otherwise, she either opens her mouth and says "ahhh", or sometimes she says "ahhh" so low you only see her open her mouth, not hear her, which looks so cute & silly.
