When out and about, take an extra layer - you can always take a jersey off; it's hard to put it on if you don't have one.

No - when reminded it rang true. And it wasn't the point of the story anyway.
Which isn't to say applying whisky internally and externally wouldn't be good advice in certain circumstances, and rhubarb has been a well known panacea for centuries. So this is definitely, "Good advice".
