Post by Chloe_88 »

So what is everyone having for christmas dinner?

I'm having Rollade (rolled roast), parsnip mash, roast tatties, brussel sprouts, glazed carrots, dundee cake, mince pies and if i can still manage a slice of yule log. And anything else I find in my cupboard :wah:

Roast turkey crown, roast ham, roast potatoes, normal and sweet, honey glazed parsnips, roast sprouts, green beans, mashed turnip, carrots, cauliflower and broccoli cheese, pigs in blankets, sage and onion stuffing and cranberry sauce.

My Aunty's home made christmas pudding with custard or cream.

I'm getting two christmas dinners!

First since we celebrate Christmas eve in Sweden and not christmas day and second since my boyfriend is Irish and wants his turkey ;-)

The swedish "Julbord" will consist of ham, meatballs, pate, ribs w apple and prunes, little sausages, pickled herring, eggs w shimps and mayo.

This will be served with an assortment of vegetables. Also lots of Glögg will be drunk.

On christmas day we'll have turkey with roast potatos, brussel sprouts and sauce.

Roast chicken, sweet potato casserole, corn pudding, butter beans, peas, Watergate salad & rolls

Dessert will be a coconut cake and pecan pie.

I always forget something until the last minute ... then it's too late! :-3

Is that similar to the Eastern European Wigilia celebrating Christmas Eve or more of the old Norse Yule extending over the whole Christmas period?

16 bean soup

I'll start it in the crock pot before I go to bed tomorrow night

Oh yes, Chloe_88, very much! I just finished a big lunch of leftovers and will probably be doing that for most of the week. Definitely no cooking for a few days!

It was awesome! Littleone won't eat it, so I made it when I knew she'd be off with dad eating turkey and such.

My dog loved it! It did not love my dog however... she had to be bannished to the garage for a couple of hours.:)
