Julia Gillard says she did not consider curtseying to the Queen amid a row over royal etiquette.
The Prime Minister and ACT Chief Minster Katy Gallagher both opted for a polite bow when meeting the Queen, rather than greeting Her Majesty in the traditional fashion.
In contrast, Governor-General Quentin Bryce delivered a crisp curtsey to the 86-year-old monarch on her arrival in Canberra yesterday.
As debate raged over "curtsey-gate" on talk back radio and social media, Ms Gillard said she was comfortable with her decision.

Good for her, after independence she can keep her house in balmoral a it's good for the tourists trade but all the revenue from the crown estates should be taken off her. Come to that anyone laying claim to hereditary estates should have them sequestrated as should any owned by a company sadly that won't be happening either.

So she's got a tram to take her through Melbourne ...good for her ...at least this one will run on time .
does no other victorian think this is just cheesy?...poor woman . to be honest I respect the woman herself but not the crown. i just think what they have installed for her is such a bore. It would be for me . Honestly . But if thats what she wants ...good thing is that she will meet with the fire victims.....as her grandson did. Yeah I'll give her that . But it's only because her son was educated here for awhile

A curtsy or a bow, it's one and the same - a show of respect. Respect was shown, what more is there to it?

Far too many things in the world to worry about, on the other channel another head of state was bloodied and on his way to meet his maker.

Did you see those blankets Gaddaffi was laid on? I'd love to know where they got them... they'd go great with my decor.
