2012?
So should we stop paying our bills and run wild in the streets?
Should we sell everything and go see the world?
Should we max out our credit cards and never have to pay them back?
Were the Mayans right?
Just kidding (mostly), but we watched the movie 2012 the other day and now my signifigant other is convinced we are doomed.
What say you? Is the Mayan calendar fact or fiction? Or should we start building our arks now? LOL

Ask those who profess to believe the end of time is in 2012 to give you all their money - except what they need to feed, clothe and house themselves till dec 2012. After all why do they need it? Still the evangelists offer redemption by the pound.

Well the Norwegians seem to be taking it all seriously ! Quite frankly there isn't a lot we can do about it is there? The powers that be seem to be trying to hide Nibiru from the worlds' eyes, I suppose that is to stop panic. If it can't be seen, it isn't there sort of attitude! Fact, there is a brown dwarf, sub stellar object of considerable size headed towards us. It is fractionally smaller than our sun! The Mayans predicted 'a planet of the crossing' and a date of December 2012. Perhaps everybody had better go away and try to find more information about Nibiru. It is getting closer, but is not visible to the naked eye as yet, this should be rectified in another year's time. It should become visible in the southern hemisphere, so Australians and of course Antartica will see it first. Is this why all the telescopes etc are being trained towards the southern sky?

I'm a Saga-lout, growing old disgracefully

The Mayan calendar is fact. From what I understood about it the Mayans didn't think the world would end in 2012. What would end is the age/era they lived in only to be replaced by another. I have it in a book, I'll post it so that anyone who cares to can read it. It's a very rich, detailed and thoroughly interesting book about America before Europeans came.

So, I guess with this topic as well as UFO's and such, it is simply a matter of people who need to believe and people who don't.
Good arguments can be made from both sides of the argument, but people just have to choose which side they are on.
I am the eternal skeptic, and really don't believe in anything I hear and not even half of what I see. There are conspiracy theories popping up every day. Doom and gloom abound. I guess some people thrive on that stuff, and really want to be able to say I told you so, even at the risk of sounding crazy.

Kinda the way I see it.

I suggest everyone hedge their bets. Plan and budget as if we are all immortal; behave as if heaven exists and the world will end tomorrow.

That still doesn't address what to do with a fruitcake.

Leave it for the cockroaches. They can use them and the twinkies to survive until other life comes back.

Take your pick. If we're still here after 2012 we've got a few more chances to use up the four tons of tinned food we've got stored in the cellar
