Are you on 'Many forums' ?...

Post by Oscar Namechange »

I know we have been down this thread before but as we have had many new members since the last thread was posted, I thought It would be Interesting again.

Myself, I am here.

I am registered with other forums but my post count there Is very, very low due to not having the time or the Inclination to post on them all.

Forums I am registered with such as Stormfront and the UK Horse-racing forum, I go purely to read and learn and lately I just have time for a quick look.

I do not think I can qualify for being on 'many many forums'.... How about you?

I used to be a member on a lot of forums, but now FG is the only one I regularly visit. Hardly ever even pop into the other ones.

The same with me Peg. I have registered with other forums In the past when FG members have been banned or moved on but they are very few. Just because you registered once with them, does not mean you are a 'forum addict' by any means. I do pop Into them occassionally but my post counts there are very fare and few and I see no point what-so-ever In posting the same threads as here because most FG members go there for a look any-way.

They have a delightful sub forum which shares pastry recipes and crochet patterns and another which discusses the most effective way to sponsor an African orphan

I have my reasons for going there Rich. As a BNP Activist, I get accussed of all sorts along with many good members In the Party. In the past there was a link between our leader ( due to stand down) Nick Griffin and David Duke simply because they were at the same conference together. ( Guilty by association). The forum gives me an Insight to every-thing our Party Is NOT and I still find It Interesting to read the words of true white supremicists. Our National newspapers especially The Times ( Murdoch) scours the forum for crap that he can print claiming It has come from the BNP. I like to get there first !!! In actual fact, the BNP get a hard time on Stormfront.

I used to belong to a couple of specialist forums but found them very restricting. The members wanted only to discuss - and drool over - the subject of the forums, like an music artist Very insular and blinkered.

Well, I am certainly not on many many forums nor Indeed a forum addict.

The forums I do pop In to here and there are pretty much the same as FG with some of the same members so I see very little point of repeating threads.

Besides,.... can you Imagine the out-rage If I posted... 'What was the last thing In your mouth?'... Or... 'Words ending In ING'... On the UK horse -racing forum? :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

I could try It on Stormfront, just for the crack :yh_rotfl

I used to belong to a Pink Floyd forum years ago. That was OK for a while untill I finally realised just how anal these people were. No interest in anything else to the point of being incredibly boring - as much as I love Floyd

I am registered with one or two other forums but I mainly use FG. I barely get time to use FG sometimes, let alone other forums as well.

I found exactly the same on The Stranglers forum. I stayed about a week and that was years ago. It all seemed point scoring to me and little discussion about the music.

I have stuck with FG due to the range of sections here where we can discuss music, sport etc all In one place.

Also most members here are on my Facebook friends and can talk privately to them If I wish. This has always been a real community with good loyal friends who support each other what-ever and I just don't think you get that on any other forum... well, none that I have seen.

I would like to point out clearly that the reason of my edit was to change the word Spot to Sport as I had Intended. This was due to a typo and bears no relation to any character called Spot.

I've tried a few other forums but deleted all of them, although I do pop in once in awhile to see how folks are. I do have a facebook acct but only visit once a week to keep in touch with my Irish rellys.

FG is my home forum and will always be so. I love FG and all my friends here:-4

I have tried other forums, but they don't hold a candle to Forum Garden! People seem to post one post and if they are lucky they may get a reply from somebody else the same day. If they are not lucky then it could be several days!!! How boring ? Also, people seem to only be able to talk 'small talk' and monosyllabic at that ! Not for me.

There is a certain amount of quality member on FG, that I haven't come across on other forums. Members seem more genuine, friendly and helpful. There is also compassion.

Oh there are fights, arguments, fallings out and making friends again - normal stuff you can find in real life, and I think that is what makes this site particularly special - well for me, any way.

Nice one Tombstone !!!! .... :yh_clap ..... :-6 ...... :yh_worshp

Not really on any forums right now. The few times I make it in here to say 'heya' pretty much sums it up.

When I first started looking for Internet forums in 2005, FG was the first forum I found where people weren't intent on finding the nastiest terms for insulting another member. Every thread on these forums were reduced to swearing and insults by the first reply. As such, I guess FG was unique then and remains unique today in that you can have a conversation with other people from different countries and different walks of life. Indeed, I have seen friendships formed here.

I agree... Who would have thought just over 2 years ago that when I joined this forum, you and I would end up sharing pics on facebook and putting the world to rights on the phone?:wah:

I have met very special people here who are now on Facebook with me and many, we phone each other.

It Is such a shame when you do get the odd one who wants nothing but to stir the pot and get members to take sides.

For some reason, I couldn't get onto FB just now. Perhaps it was too hot for my PC. :wah:

As you know, I am on Wober also with you. I go there to talk to Jazzy. That Is about It with me. I have registered with others over the past few years but very rarely post on them. I do go to another site now and then to see Lady Cop also a good friend but then most people I can E Mail so have no need to use the forums really.

I'm on just enough forums. FG being my #1 forum; the other ones I occasionally frequent, offer something totally different than what is found here.

Some other forums I have been extended an invitation to join, which I checked out, just didn't peak my interest. Either too young of a membership, a lot of members advertising their own forums that others could join or they have the same topics as we have right here at FG.
