So we've had a true, real to life, wake up call to the Afghan war.
What does everyone think about it?

I believe that the 'Wiki guy' is a hero . For once we have real info instead of the political crap that is fed to us by mainstream media and politicians.
When all media was vetted through the military during hte Iraq war ..( is that finished yet?) Now we have a step back tot he Vietnam era where we'll see some truth.
Politicans are responding with comments like " lets hope it doesn't damage relations." ..............Well excuse me, but isn't that like saying ....We shouldn't bring the details out of that murder investigation because it might damage relations between the murderer and the victims family?

To be honest I thought that everyone remembered the gas pipeline (in your words...fiasco) before the gulf war all those years ago. When remember when the American government were bosom buddies with the taliban? And they were ...none of this save the women from the burka crap etc. Seems the american government couldn't give a rats arse back then ....Now it's all about freeing the people from a fate worse than death.
Or am I getting it wrong somehow?

No you have it right---------Todays Taliban was yesterdays Mujahideen, and they were our buddies as they fought those pesky Russians. Strange foreign policy, what?

I can put up a video of afghan forces with British forces here ............but I havent made an understanding of the vid to make a comment, it seems weird to me that the british government would deliberately have afghan forces on it's side that stop and have " drug breaks" mid battle...............I kid you not. WHY??????
If you're interested the film is true footage not directed. and while British forces are in an area of "under fire" there are drugged out afghans smoking pot and one actually goes out and lets off multiple rounds that the British can't afford, it's kooky!!! you have British soldiers laughing incredibly about what just happened...............what the hell?

Yes, the news fussed over this yesterday-pros and cons. Never really ask the citizens what they think of it, but then, they never do.

to be honest ....non poilitical, and I know of nothing else but ...the "war on terrism " is screwed ...dealing in an area where we don't see a certain group as "the enemy " is really hard to deal with ..we are (in this country) killing people that have never threatened us, and to boot ...have been in Australia as long as whites have (it's why we have camels..and why the arabs come here to purchase such)...just a funny feeling that's all.
