Software Upgrade Has Begun...

Hello Everyone!

I've begun the software testing / upgrade process. This process has been going on since this morning.

If all goes well, there will be a time in several hours that FG will shut down so that I can get the database backed up - and perform the upgrade.

When FG comes back to life, it will not have its usual color scheme. In fact, you will probably just see the main forum area. Please be patient as I re-build the site.

That sounds exciting, Tomby. However, will the basic Forum Garden colour scheme of green and yellow return? It is rather unique, and far better than other sites' colour schemes. FG wouldn't look the same in another colour scheme :-1

Colors will absolutely be back! Format...layout...and maybe a few other things *may change.

It wouldn't be FG without yellow and green!

We're back! Although a bit lifeless regarding the colors, and missing our old front page - I'll begin working on those items tomorrow.

Right now it's about 8 p.m. PDT and I'm still at the office. I think I'll head home and get some dinner. I'll begin working on FG again later tonight.

Still here! Got our homepage up and running again. Many tweaks to do.

Looking forward to getting back to our green and yellow colors too!

Maybe it's me with the fish grudge, I'm hiding all fishy threads, I remember the evil smell from my days as a secretary to a fish merchant :sneaky:;)

You may have to search through the 'forums' for it, the new posts option only throws up threads you have not yet read, so if no one has posted since you last read it that will be why it's not popping up.

It's criminal, given that I live in a busy fishing port, that the bread and butter that holds this village together is something I'm not at all keen on. I'll take the bread and butter instead, or the rhubarb and custard even, loved that crazy music :guitarist

Migrating to a new format is HUGE in so many ways. TS has brought the GARDEN back online very fast give him a round of applaudes this isn't fun work believe me. Were up and the tweeks will be made as we move forward.

I don't know about that thread....but all forums and all threads and posts are still here.

Seems to be progressing very well. Not that I know anything about all that technical stuff. I do appreciate, however, how complicated things can be, and how long it can take to sort everything out properly. At first, when I logged in to FG, I thought I was on another (lesser) site, because of the slate blue colour, but I soon realised that it had to be FG, because of the superior layout, and of course the thread titles.

You are doing sterling work, TS. Have you been able to sleep in the last 24 hours?
