new information on Jessica Lunsford

this has just been made official. the details are nauseating.

the 9-year-old girl was raped, bound and buried alive, kneeling and clutching a purple stuffed dolphin, state prosecutors said in documents released Wednesday.

Jessica Lunsford's body was found March 19 buried about 150 yards from her house in Homosassa, about 60 miles north of Tampa.

According to the documents, Jessica was found wearing shorts and a shirt Ã¢â‚¬ different from the pink nightgown her family said she was wearing when they reported her missing Feb. 24, The Tampa Tribune said in its online edition late Wednesday.

The body was wrapped in two plastic trash bags knotted at her head and feet in a grave covered by a mound of leaves, the state attorney's office said in the documents.

Jessica died of asphyxiation, according to a coroner's report. A convicted sex offender,John Evander Couey 46, is charged in her slaying.

Officials said they believe Jessica may have been alive in Couey's home while police and volunteers searched for her. After she was killed, Couey fled to Georgia.

The purple stuffed dolphin thing just broke my heart.

Worse yet, the blasted, Hell-bound scum is pleading not guilty. I really wish, in cases like this, that we still allowed lynching.

A quick drop on a short rope is the only cure for animals like him.

Wrap him in plastic. Bury him alive the way he did Jessica. Let him feel what she felt in her last minutes. Let him know, the way she probably knew, that he will die soon. He's admitted it. Save the taxpayers money and forget a trial. Let him die the horrific death she died.

Peg, i have seen shite that would make anyone cringe in horror. nothing bothered me much anymore. but thinking of that little girl buried alive has ripped my guts out. i want to tear him to pieces. i do not know how the deputies at that jail can even stand to feed the bastard.

Presumably the local D.A. will be seeking the death penalty.

I hope that there is no question of an insanity plea.

I hope that there is no question of an insanity plea.i am certain the DA will seek death, however the public defender, in doing his job, will try to save him from death row and get him life instead. it could mean insanity plea or even diminished capacity because he was all messed up on crack. that can reduce first degree to second. of course not a jury in the world, even oj's, will buy any of that codswollop.

How do you guys in FL execute? Is it lethal injection nowdays or do you still have 'Old Sparkey'?

Here in PA we only have lethal injection now. It's too fast and clean for some of these drongos

Here in PA we only have lethal injection now. It's too fast and clean for some of these drongosAlas, old sparky was retired after a couple rather messy executions. some dummy forgot to wet the sponge and jesse trefero's head caught on fire, and then another guy spewed blood all over the place. so we've modernized. i will lobby the legislature to bring it back for couey and danny rolling.

If you're successful in lobbying FL State Legislure to bring back Old Sparky can you make sure that it's not working too well and delivers a nice slow painful death.

The deputies at the prison where they are being held could also come to the party.

This latest information is so disturbing.....the tears fall as I type. I feel so much anger towards this man....I just keep wondering how much people can take of this stuff......I mean we hear such horrible things on the news, tragedies...crimes committed against the innocent, and we never have an outlet to blow off the steam. I just can't stand this. I feel the only way to feel better about this one is to torture this man MYSELF, however that is not realistic and will never happen, so how do we get past this stuff? What do you all do to cope with these things? Is time supposed to make it easier?

I haven't posted on this for about 3 weeks now since the first information was leaked about Jessica possibly having been alive for a couple of days after her disappearance. This is all just horrific but what has to really eat at the people in charge of the search is the fact that there was a window of opportunity to have saved her and it was missed.

I suppose when you look back at the criteria for MOST of these cases, something was missed. It's almost always someone who is known or knows the victim. In this case, it was an immediate neigbhor. Why all the houses in the neigbhorhood weren't searched, I don't understand. That is standard procedure in cases such as this where we live. The search dogs missed her. And what I will never understand is how she could have been hidden in that trailer without the others living there not knowing she was there - not possible. They should be hung along with Couey.

The more you learn, the more new questions arise. No nightgown, now regular clothes. Unlocked front door on this one particular night in her trailer. No screaming either in the Lunsford trailer or in Couey's step sister's trailer. I don't think Couey or his relatives have really given the real story here yet as rotten as it is in its current form, the total truth is likely even worse. No way was Couey the only person who was either involved or aware of what was happening. I am totally in disbelief that no one else in Couey's sister's trailer has been charged as an accessory.

But how do we know she was hidden that trailor? She could have been in the trunk of a car for days...(that didn't stay in one spot).....who knows.....I agree that people in that trailer had to have known, however they looked so "hopped up" on drugs in their pictures on the news, who really knows what they were aware of???? Sickening...

it is now stated in court documents that the people in the trailer KNEW Jessica was hidden in couey's closet. i hope they die horrible deaths. these nasty crack-addled creatures were WOMEN!! God! and i thought i was finally numb to this stuff.

What kind of charges are they facing? Set them free and send them to me! Prison life would seem like paradise if there's anything left of them to send to prison after I had them here for a while.
