Two girls aged 14 and 15 leap hand in hand to their deaths of the Erskine bridge into the Clyde. What the hell is going on.:(

They must have thought it was, for the alternative to be preferable to living. I cant imagine the pain they were feeling, the desolation and lonliness. To think there is no alternative than to jump off a bridge. May they finally find the peace that alluded them in life. :-1:yh_flower

My heart breaks for those poor kids and their families. I can't begin to imagine what made life too hard for them to want to go on.

Why did no one see that there was a problem?

They are only little girls for goodness sake. They should have been enjoying life, not jumping to their deaths.

It's all so very wrong :-1
Very nearly perfect ... :D

a terrible tragic thing isn't it. I suppose no one will ever understand :( Sure hope it does not turn into one family blaming the other family for who their daughter hung around with.

:( so sad

My heart aches for anybody who decides to end his/her life, especially a young person. When today is unbearable and tomorrow looks (to them) more of the same. To not have hope. To not have anticipation. So terribly sad.

The two girls were resident pupils at the Good Shepherd Centre in nearby Bishopton, Renfrewshire.

The unit cares for young people referred to the centre by local authority educational and psychological services, social work departments and children's hearings.

Both girls came to the unit seven to eight weeks ago. A centre spokesman said they had been on apparently happy and productive weekend outings with relatives and were seen by staff in their pyjamas going to their rooms to watch television on Sunday evening.

But staff carrying out routine checks noticed they were missing and began a search of the campus and the immediate vicinity. Shortly afterwards, police called to inform staff of the incident which had taken place at the Erskine Bridge.

Bridge death pair were teen girls (From Daily Echo)

Obviously not as happy as people thought then. Particularly as they're in the care of the Local Authority. Family problems? Problems at the centre? Maybe they thought they couldn't survive or recover from whatever led to them being in care. :-1

I can't even imagine what their lives were like to go to such extremes.:(
Life is just to short for drama.
