Growing up! AHHHHHHHHHHH!

I freaked out graduating. There were only 28 in my class. We were all very close. I cried and cried. There is nothing better than being done with high school though. The first time you go to college for 3 hours...instead of 8 hours (like in high school)....you will never look back!!!

Well that's all you know at the moment. When you get to college and meet more people your confidence will rise and life will seem less scary :)

I remember walking down the street one day and there were this crowd of Catholic kids walking ahead of me. As I was passing them I could hear one of them telling and remarking to his friends that much later this year he was going to be 18. He was trying to be accepted by the already 18 year olds that were in this little crowd.

I couldn't resist, so, I turned to him and said "before you turn 18 make sure that you fully enjoy being 17.

He was stunned and so were his friends. They all looked to the teacher and the teacher said that it sounded good to him. We smiled as we passed and I continued on my way.

The future will be here soon enough. Enjoy being where you are today.

I for one am happier and more in tune with myself now, at 41, than I ever was in school or in my 20's. Enjoy each year Skittles because one day when you're 30 you'll go to bed and wake up 41!! The years race by as you get older. You'll see!!
"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group that believes you can do these things. Among them are a few Texas millionaires, or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid." Don't worry so much! Enjoy it now. You have some time. Trust me, by graduation day, you will be ready to move on. You are only going to be a sophomore next yr, and you have a couple of great years ahead of you. During that time you will be growing and caring about different things. You may actually feel like you can't wait to graduate because there may be something you have decided to persue in life that really interests you. You can do anything you want in this world and the next few yrs are a great time to decide what that is and persue it!!

Also, when you graduate it doesn't have to mean leaving friends behind. Leave with numbers and addresses! And if you go away to college/leave town, don't forget to take an address book with you and really call the people you care about! Although I feel 20...I am really 35. I had a great time in high school and in college and some of my friends now are people I met in grade school! We have many good times remembering the good old days. Unfortunately we can't not stop time/aging, but we CAN preserve friendships that can last forever, with people who shared those good times with us!

Hey Skittles

Enjoy each year as much as you can.. do it all.. see it all.. don't deny.. soon enuff you will have to enter the realm of a responsible adult... don't rush it. I graduated at 17... turned 18 and a week later was in Navy boot camp... yes sometimes I look back and maybe would have changed my path.. but by in large.. no regrets..

Sooo.. enjoy your H.S. years .. have fun and be safe...

It's like I said...Life is what YOU make of it....no matter what your age. Remember, the things you do now, can affect who you are at 41....so like I said before, really grasp these years ahead of you and think about what you want to be or do with your life. At 35, I can honestly say I would not go back! I am so happy/comfortable with my life. At your age, you shouldn't worry about how it will feel to be 41.....because who knows...you just might like it when you get there!

Hey well im 17 and ill b 18 in june. And i worried about growing up for a really long time untill i realised that while i was worrying about it i was really missing out on enjoying my life and the good time i was having. its always hard to leave a familair setting and go out in to the big world on youre own two feet. but it has to be done. in a couple of years you will think how stupid you were beign about worrying about growing up.

Exactly! Well said! And don't let that fear of the future stifle your wellbeing because it can affect your future!

I mean..you don't want to wind up stuck in the year 1982 (Napolean Dynomite's uncle, but in your case 2005), still living under mom & dad's roof when you are 40!

ROFL! I'm laughing with you, Skittles, not at you! Because...

WE ALL FELT THAT WAY!!

it's a very scary process at your age. Am I smart enough? Will I be OK without my parents? What job will I get? What if I end up homeless? Will I find a mate? Raise a family? I don't feel ready for all that!

The worries go on and on. But don't worry! In three years, when you graduate (you'll notice I didn't say "if") you'll be three years more mature. Three yers more intelligent. Three years more experienced! And believe me...those three years are very, very big years!

You'll be ready for anything! ;)

When i went into the big world moved away got my own place i realised it wasnt gonna be as easy as i thaught times are tough i even sometimes i wish i was back things were so much easier, but i just take each day as it comes the best way to learn is to get out their and try!!!!!!!!
