jim & edna were both patients at a mental hospital

one day after walking by the side of the hospital swimming pool, jim suddenly jumped in the deep end sank right to the bottom & stayed there

edna jumped in to save him, she swam to the bottom, brought him out & took him to his room

when the hospital director became aware of edna's heroic act she immediately ordered edna discharged from the hospital, deeming edna mentally stable

she went to edna & said i have some good news & i have some bad news - good news is your being discharged because you responded so rationally to a crisis, by jumping into the pool to save jim you displayed sound mindedness

the bad news is jim the patient you saved, hung himself in his bathroom with his bathrobe belt right after you saved him, i am so sorry but he's 'dead'

edna replied

he dident hang himself, i put him there to dry, how soon can i go home ?
