Odin . . .did you choose that name because that's your country of origin? If so, what can you tell me about Norway, Iceland and surrounding countries? I'm planning a trip in August and I need all the help I can get. Welcome to the Garden. It's lovely and enlightening here.

first bit of advice if you want to get along with folks here

1, dont be popular people wont like you if you are

2, dont laugh or goof around the sensible you must check every thing on snopes first before you post wont like it

3,there is only room for two morons on every forum me and yzgi got that covered

4,there is only room for 1 wierdo creepy guy who's post you laugh at but inside your head an alarm goes off and it says put this wacko on ignore now ,nomad has that covered

5, last and most important dont ever take advice from the forums biggest moron namely me :-3:-3:-3

Greetings Odin, if I can offer you one bit of advice on how to enjoy yourself here on FG, it would be.... don't believe everything you read....

Come on in and enjoy yourself in the garden, in general we try to have fun here and some of us keep the levity at a good level, some of us keep the seriousness at a good level, and some people keep those of us who are unbalanced... balanced.

Have fun honestly and post often, it's the best way to get a feel for what this place is like.

Damn. I can't even give her away. I tried to raffle her off. She found and spent the raffle money. Both dollars. C'mon over anyway. Game 7 is on Friday night. Red Wings and Penguins.

Just a few personal replies, so don't think I'm cherry picking certain posters, I appreciate all your posts. :)

I'm born and bred in England matey, I just have a passing interest in norse mythology. Sorry.

Being a single chappy it would be unfair for me to take your other half off your hands, with nothing in return. I'd be more than happy to give you her number though. Just don't blame me when she singes the hair from your face. You have been warned. :D

Good, sound advice there, more or less the way I try to conduct myself anyway. :)

All I need to do now is get a feel for the place, this has to be the largest forum I've seen to date. It's huuuuge! Hope to speak to you all at some point on my travels. Thanks again for the comments so far. :)

Hiya Mancunian Odin *waves*

Hope you had a nice day yesterday (it being your day) :D

I'm sure you know that Odin (also known as Woden) had a day named after him - Woden's Day. So hope it was a nice one for you. :D

*I need a smiley with a balloon head that just gets bigger and bigger until it pops! :wah: *

We have a delightful Mancunian Lady whom you may one day meet. She's currently in the Land of Marmalade but I could foresee several of us setting up a blind date for you and she. ;) We could buy a blow-up palm tree and a paddling pool and a couple of towels and set up a mini oasis in the middle of the Arndale Centre! Then send you each a love note telling you to be there an hour before closing. ;) :D

Ay-mee. I sense a little romance in the air. :-4

I'll supply the jug for the tequila slammers and a couple of plastic picnic glasses. :D

Anyone else feel like giving romance a lil nudge? ;)

Btw, welcome to the garden from another nut. :D

Ok Odin. Lets clear a few things up. I make all the rules up here cos I'm in charge. No one else, just me. Even I do what I tell me to do. So to start off, I'd like you to punch Nomad and push Farmer Giles over.

Do that and you'll fit in well.

Jeez! You're a tough room to please. :p

Anyway, I'm a placid kind of guy, so there'll be none of that business coming from this direction. More than happy to get the beers in though. :D

Haven't seen Nomad post yet, but Farmer Giles seems a decent enough feller. :)

Red, all the way. ;)

But, best leave the footy talk to the sports section eh. ;) As these things tend to run and run.

Nice song though. :D
