Trip to London

Post by abbey »

Tomorrow, after many cancellations I am finally off to London.

I shall be at the houses of Parliament and then to the house of Lords for supper, I shall have to be on my very best behaviour,

Last week I went to a do at the London Hilton and got so drunk I fell in my bathroom and concussed myself! :wah:

She'd either be arrested for assault or locked up for insanity - it's touch and go which they'd think of first

Have a great time and, if they let you out early, I'll be down the Pride :-)

I had a fantastic time, I never realised how proud I was to be British until I went into the houses of parliament!

I had a really good toot around the house of commons and then the house of lords.

We had a beautiful meal in the lords dining area and I took lots of pics (some I really should'nt have) :o

When being shown the robing room, where the queen puts her robe on for the opening of parliament I jumped on her throne and had my pic taken, I expected bells to go off when I jumped the rope and be carted off to the tower. :wah:

I went into the undercroft of St. Stephen’s Chapel where only MP'S and peers are allowed, I took pics and only realised on the way out it was'nt allowed...Hey-ho. :sneaky:

Just outside the chapel doors is a broom closet where Emily Wilding Davison a sufferegette hid on the night of the 1911 census count so she could say "The house of commons" when asked where she stayed on that date, What a gal!

Sadly She died when she threw herself under the Kings horse at the 1913 derby killing herself.

Tony Wedgewood Benn put a plaque on the back of the door along with a picture of her, I took a picture. :o

I took a pic of the cenotaph for Oscar.

Not the best portrait I've ever seen - by a long way :-)

Glad you enjoyed the visit - there's far too much to see in one go so here's to the next one.
