How many people in prison? Ever wondered?

Putting that side-by-side with http://www.kcl.ac.uk/depsta/law/researc ... eventh.pdf the figures say over a quarter of the people in jail across the world are in US jails. Maybe running a jail in the US is a profitable business and this is a natural consequence of unfettered capitalism?
