A Friend Passed Away

Post by observer1 »

I got a phone call last evening, on my way home from work. It was one of my best friends calling to tell me that a very dear male friend of ours had passed away on Tuesday from a massive heart attack. He was only 39. Apparently, he was playing street hockey when it happened. The paramedics arrived quickly, but couldn't save him.

I'm going to the viewing this evening & the funeral's tomorrow afternoon. :-1

Sorry to hear this. My condolences. 39 is way, way too young to go.

Please except my condolences to the friends and family on the loss of your dear friend.

Thank you all so much! It means a lot. I went to the viewing with my friends. I opted to skip the funeral. His brother said that the autopsy showed that he apparently had high cholesterol. Some of the plaque dislodged & clogged an artery. The death was probably almost instantaneous... which may have been a blessing, as he probably didn't suffer. :(

I just got word that Idgie's mom has passed away this past Monday....she had a major stroke a couple of weeks before and just was not up to living anymore. She passed away peacefully. Idgie has taken the week off for vacation and has tons of things she has to get done this week. So a major hug to a friend.:-4:yh_hugs:yh_hugs

That's what happened to my Mum many years ago now. Though she is still fresh in my heart and my mind.

My condolences to Idgie.:-4

Her mother and I are blessed that she has such a generally good nature about her. Though she does have 3 siblings who she adores and who adore her. She does have a good mother. I am hopeless with children.

She's my only one and rather a surprise as I'd given up when I was 50 and thought I would never have any.

Here's the rub, in 2005, a consultant I saw told me that I will need to have my prostrate removed. I wasn't with anyone at the time, but I put it off. Logically, under the circumstances then, I should have just told them to go ahead. But I think the thought that I would lose my virility, useless though it was at the time, just made me want to pause before I replied.

That all happened when I was living in Bedford. I live in West Yorkshire now and I have decided to go through with it as the problem is getting worse now.

Sorry if that's too much info. But I'm just amazed by the whole thing. I am so glad that I did pause because I love my lass so much.

Intuition told you to wait it out I guess. She's adorable. Does your other half have the 3 sibs and are you two together?
