I try to please one person a day. Today is not your day, and tomorrow looks bad too.

Tell President Bush to stop his attack on America's Priorities
Godiva Girl wrote: President Bush recently submitted his budget for fiscal year 2006 to Congress. If passed, it would devastate families around the country by cutting programs like Medicaid, veterans' benefits, college loans, education programs, farm subsidies, and community development grants, all while doing nothing to alleviate the record-breaking federal deficit.
Sign the petition and tell President Bush that his budget is unrealistic and irresponsible. Tell him to start over and that this time he should put America's priorities first.
Please sign the petition at: www.democrats.org/action/index.html
the deficit is record breaking only in terms of raw dollars. which is meaningless. the dollar has shrunk in value due to inflation for many, many decades. as a proportion of the the government's obligations, and gross domestic product, it is smaller than back in the 1960's.
but it makes for great, hysterical soundbites.
