The Doctors' plot

Post by spot »

Everyone remembers Scotland's Finest, John Smeaton? The guy who famously said of the attack at Glasgow Airport which he helped subdue "Glasgow doesn't accept this. This is Glasgow; we'll set about ye", followed two weeks later by "Would you stop it with all this hero worship? Anyone else would have done exactly the same as me". The chap who was awarded the Queen's Gallantry Medal last Christmas.

Anyhow, the two doctors who survived are on trial at the moment. It's one thing to get annoyed about current events, it's an entirely different matter to attempt the mass murder of uninvolved party-goers and passers-by. Bad form, chaps. Totally inept execution, so totally inept it's hard to believe, but completely bad form all the same.

I'm going looking for this spot, but if you have some favorite references to the heros story, please supply them dear...

I'm only seeing the trial story, I think.

I like this one..

In his News of the World interview, he said:

"If any more extremists are still wanting to rise up and start trouble, know this: We’ll rise right back up against you. New York, Madrid, London, Paisley … we’re all in this together and make no mistake, none of us will hold back from putting the boot in."

Having spent time in Glasgow, of the cities he mentioned: New York, Madrid, London, its definetly Paisely you wouldn't want on your back the most. Still, at least no innocent people died in that attack luckily enough. He is a brave guy, it would be a hairy situation to have to face, no doubt about it.
