Birth Order

Where were you born in your family. 1st, Middle, Last.

Says a lot about who you are now.

I'm the second to last child. A peacemaker in my family. First children usually are

serious, little dictators, last children are spoiled brats. Middle children have to

mediate. Sort of family policemen.

Just wondering if you ever noticed birth order personality traits.

I'm an Only.

I always got the "so I bet you're really spoiled huh?" stuff.

Onlies have to make their own fun, find ways to entertain themselves. Often they seem older than their years because they tend to spend more time with adults. They can seem a little standoffish too in social sitches. But then again that's just a guideline, no facts.

I am the middle of 5 1 older brother + a sister with 2 younger brothers.

I seem to fit the normal assumptions of the middle child...IE:

Birth Order: Characteristics of Middle Children

More mysterious. Middle born children are more difficult to define because their identity growing up changed (from last-born to middle child). This affects their personality and environment in unpredictable ways.

Peacekeepers. Middle borns may be more likely to keep peace in the family, to restore connections and relationships.

Less decisive. Middle children may take longer to choose a career than firstborn or later-borns. They may deliberately make opposite choices than firstborns; if the firstborn is a doctor, the middle child may choose to be a firefighter or cop.

Less connected. Middle children may not be as attached to the family as firstborns or later-borns.

2 older brothers, 1st girl. I'm a little dictator in my classroom, probably also my home to make it run smoothly. I am the family policeperson, the matriarch in training. Not an easy position to be born into.....

His profession is being a Controller at a company.

but is also the same with with me!:-5

but I have grown, what he says doesn`t necessarily go anymore!:sneaky:

I am the oldest of three..i grew up feeling responsible for them and my parents..and it was expected. so for the most part i put everybody i knew ahead of me................................untill recently...:sneaky:

I'm a middle with a brother on each side. I'm the bad a$$ cuz I don't let anyone else in the family intervene and dictate anything about my life. My oldest brother could do no wrong, and my youngest was always in trouble but mom would always turn the other cheek since he was her baby. I was daddy's girl but he worked a lot, so I did a lot of raising myself. I'm a guys gal and have a hard time getting along with women because I don't like anything "girly"...I'd rather sit with the guys and watch a good football or baseball game.

not really..not in the long run..my brother and sister have had a way harder time in their adult life because they were babied and not expected to grow up like i was. i gave too much..they had way to little expected of them..and it shows even today.:-6

Middle of three, older brother, younger sister, I'd often accept the blame for things the other two had done just to stop whatever punishment had been bestowed on all three of us at that time (I was hungry and annoyed that whichever of the other two stubborn gits had done whatever it was they'd done but wouldn't own up to it) at least that was until the parents realised that I'd lied to them. Only I didn't think of it as lying at the time I thought I was doing all three of us a favour.

I guess so. I hate to shop, hate crafts or anything related. I'm a sports enthusiast and would rather play then watch. I also love cars...especially the classic muscle cars....and I was a mechanic for 7 years. Tomboy from the day I was born up til this day. Yes I am married and straight. :wah::wah:

I am the eldest of 2. I was an only child for 12 years and then my sister came along

I love being the older sister. I am the peace keeper and quite quiet.

Jen is the crazy one - she's great fun. We are very close :-4:D
