Lots of lightning, thunder and dark clouds just passed by and still hearing rumblings.....

It was bad here for a half hour or so, but now it's gone.....It was fun to watch...

Didn't you get hit earlier? I was talking to another friend from OC and she said it was pouring, couldn't see out the window. And at the time, it was sunny here and boom, 10 min. later it started getting dark and the winds really picked up and then of course, boom we got slammed.

We are about 40 miles from each other, so whatever I get, will soon hit Kathy ellen. This current storm came from the west and right up the coast it went.

Yes, about an 2 hour ride. My daughter is in the next town over. But when we are in Ocean City, NJ, we will be about 40 min. away. Have you been there?

no, we just got it about 40 minutes ago...it's almost gone now...very cool storm though....

Thanks Chezzie....storm is over now I think...it was fun to watch..

Kathy!!! How are you???? We got a very mini storm over Sydney Harbour last night but obviously not in the same class as yours. Yours sounds very scary.

And Duckie - yes. With Kathy, who led me astray. We walked the boardwalk in Atlantic City, heard some great jazz, doubled our money in one casino (and gazed in amazement at the Chihuly chandeliers). I remember eating the most incredible cherry ice cream in Cape May. Neat town.

It is a neat town. Very old Victorian. Looking forward to visiting it again in a few weeks. Will have to pick up some postcards, etc. and maybe mail you one.

Great photos, Kathy Ellen. There is something dangerous and beautiful about an upcoming storm. Both forboding and exciting. Glad you made it through safely.

Yes, we both did. I got it first and wow! The town up from us lost power and worst of all, they lost in a mall. Can you imagine eating your food and the power goes out?

Where I live, we are high up enough to see into 3 counties, and we overlook the River Trent valley. It is fascinating to watch the beginnings of a storm as it seems to follow the river valley and go past us. We can see it build into thunder clouds, then the lightning flashes all over the place, and the huge crashes of thunder - very dramatic and awesome. Fortunately our dog is not bothered at all by it. Yes we are very lucky with the view we have from our house.

They recorded around 32,000 lightning strikes yesterday where these storms hit. Pretty cool.
