The Hot Seat

Post by Dynabertawe »

I thought that I'd start this thread so that newcomers like me can get to know the more established members of the forum and vice versa.

One member will be on the Hot Seat for the next 10 pages and then this person can nominate another after this (sending a PM always helps). You can ask anyone anything, as long as it's not offensive!

Does anyone want to volunteer to be on the Hot Seat first?

Dynabertawe: Welcome and hope you enjoy FG. Can you explain this a little better so we can understand what you want us to do? Or maybe you can go first if this is a game

Sorry, my fault, maybe in the wrong section. It is a game of sorts, one person takes to the hot seat and invites all members to ask a question about them so that they can get to know them a bit better. Once this member has answered approximately 10 pages of questions, they pass the Hot Seat to another member.

Sorry for my vagueness!:(

Members' News? I think we'd need a new Members' Evasions folder!

Sorry Spot but If this is a game, we are all willing to play it. In your opinion, is this a game? Maybe there should be a Newbie News Section :wah:

It sounds like a fun game so long as I don't get sat in the seat, thank you.

Does the person have to be truthful? I nominate spot to be in the hot seat first. As far as I know he is an established forumgarden member, always has an opinion, never needs reminding about things, is attentive, lightly adversarial, informative and knowledgeable, has plenty of time on hand, as surmised by the extent of time spent on FG (not sure if this is accurate), and didn't want to play, which makes the best candidate for first nominee (since there are no volunteers). What d'ya say?

This is stolen from Wikipedia, it says it better than I'd manage this early in the day...The Establishment is a pejorative term used to refer to the traditional ruling class elite and the structures of society that they control. The term can be used to describe specific entrenched elite structures in specific institutions, but is usually informal in application and pejorative. For example, candidates for political office are often said to have to impress the "party establishment" in order to win endorsement.

In the 1960s and 1970s, "The Establishment" was seen as representing restrictive, authoritarian policies. As the old fashioned way of doing things, it was associated with age and was said to be dominated by members of the war generation who had not yet accepted or adapted to the big societal changes of the decade. Sociologically, one who does not belong to "The Establishment" is an "outsider".

spot looks hard in minks' direction and puts the hex on her instead

The way to get her talking is just to start asking her questions I reckon.
