Lost my 'bold', letter size etc. on FG threads

Post by G#Gill »

Can't get my 'bold' function or letter size etc, to work on FG threads. Also my photobucket cartoon I used in my signature disappeared. I found it in Photobucket again, but when I clicked on it with a view to replacing it, the cartoon would not go ! So I had to pick another cartoon. ALSO I cannot use my smilies !!!!!!

Can anybody help me with this please. I hasten to add that my 'bold', underline, italic etc. function quite normally in my 'Word'. It seems to just be on the posting area of Forum Garden that it is affected.

Apparently I have 2 old ladies on my signature, yet I can only seen the new one that's dancing. My original one with the pink hat is not visible to me !!! What on earth has happened ?

Looks like you have been de-italicized, un-bolded, and put on the anti-smilie list. Sorry for your luck G#Gill.:wah::D:D:cool:;)

Rj's post just reminded me. I had to install a new java update this morning. Don't know if that has anything to do with it though.

I did a scan on Max Registry Cleaner, and it was after that I noticed this problem, so I thought I must have deleted something which maybe I shouldn't, so I retrieved the stuff that I'd deleted according to the scan suggestions. It made no difference though. But I've left them retrieved.

Oh yes Peg, that was suggested to me by somebody else earlier, but thankyou anyway.

I do appreciate all the suggestions offered so far. It does seem fairly obvious that it is something that I've done, and in the last couple of days. That would tie in with the scan I did on this Max scan. Normally I just use Symantec Norton.

Oh this is all doing my head in. It just seems confined to Forum Garden, perhaps they've let some mischievious elves, or goblins into the garden.

I'm OK in 'Word'

I'm OK on MSN

I am so frustrated !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have tried to 'system restore' but it won't let me do it. I went back to 13th March, no deal, and each day till 10th March no deal on any date --- they were all 'bold' dates as well. I've given up for the moment, but I may try again tomorrow. I may try with a different %, at the moment it is on 6%.

Probably a silly suggestion but go into my settings, edit options and, at the bottom of the page, make sure you have the wysywig editor selected rather than the basic text box.

OK, in Firefox, Edit, Preferences, Content tab, make sure enable Java and Enable Javescript are ticked then click Advanced within fonts and colours and make sure "allow pages to chose their own fonts" is ticked.

Might not do anything but, then again :-)

I had to find it under Tools then Options not Edit then Preferences. But the rest followed correctly. Java and Enable Javascript were already ticked, when I clicked Advanced I found that 'allow pages to choose their own fonts' was also already ticked.

Thanks for trying. (smiley frown )

Ac suddenly, yesterday, I discovered that my fonts etc, smilies and my original sig, had all returned ! Now I just wonder how that happened ? Anyway, I readjusted my signature by deleting that second 'old woman', I haven't the faintest what the third one looked like, if it was ever there! Perhaps somebody was messing me about from Forum Garden for a laugh. If this was so they could have caused me to mess up my pc ! Hardly a sensible prank really :-5 :(

Anyway thank you to those who tried to help me. Things seem to be back to normal now, without me doing anything ! Odd

If you are saying sorry for the alledged 'third woman' - i'm not bothered about that, certainly if it was just a wind up. What I am worried about is, if it was somebody within Forum Garden had the capability to remove somebody's fonts, etc, the smilies, and mess with the signature, then this could cause the victim to pay out good money to have their pc checked, if they hadn't got the technical ability to sort it themselves. It does seem remarkably strange that all these facilities should suddenly return without a thing being done to try to get them back. Except try to 'system restore' but not be successful. I find it difficult to believe that it was a glitch in the computer, which sorted itself. Things just don't sort themselves. I would love to have my mind put at rest. It may not seem very important to some people, but if it was deliberately done, I would like to know, please.

Pheasy, I certainly had my suspicions about the so-called 3 rd woman :wah: I wasn't worried about that at all, so please don't worry :-4 I was worried about the other aspect, which I am confused about, and it only affected stuff on Forum Garden ! I am a firm believer in 'a reason for everything'. Things don't just disappear then reappear, just because it feels like it :eek:
