I had the most awesome primeval type experience yesterday evening. The Snow Moon total eclipse!!! A bunch of us went out to the Strawberry Park hot springs out of Steamboat, CO, got nekkid, as one is invited to do after dark, and took to the waters to howl at the moon as the earth's shadow shut it down, then turned it to blood red. Incredible.

Thanks Guys!! It really was wonderful. And we even got a shooting star. No pics. I'm so much enjoying this needed break. I've met a load of awesome people in my ski group - some of my favourites include an African American from DC who has a mega dry sense of humour and teaches journalism, a wacky New Yorker who to me sounds just like Seinfeld, a beautiful lady from Seattle, a couple from Chicago, a family from the bayous of Louisiana, assorted Brits, Germans and Canadians, and can you believe it, three Aussies who I'd never met before who live in my area of Sydney. Needless to say they all ski fabulously. Such interesting people.

I've only got a few more days here - don't really want to leave yet. The snow is deep, powdery and wonderful. Thankyou Colorado !!!!

Still got a few more days, Kathy!!! And the weather is great too. FuzzyB - it would indeed be totally awesome if we could entice Kathy Down Under!! And have a get together. Got enough space in Sydney for all of us to frolic in!!!

The lunar eclipse may not have been visible in Australia. I don't know. From here the earth got between the moon and the sun or something, and the eclipse happened fast. The red glowing sphere shape is something to do with that spectrum of refracted light.. hic... ask Galbally - he's the scientist.... but anyway it was awesome.

Kathy - when I first got here it had been snowing hard for a week, and all the trees were frozen and there was deep powder everywhere. I've done quite a lot of tree skiing, but with care and in a group. You really DO NOT want to fall in a tree bole. The snow there is soft and can be fifteen feet or more deep.

But today, it looks like we'll get some sunshine, maybe a bit of snow later on. Yeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... yodelayiiiiiiiioooooooooo

Coffee first, then lemme at it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hugs to all !!!

I'm hoping to get a few runs in this morning Kathy, then back to Aussie summer, this afternoon - local snowstorms permitting!! :sneaky:

Thankyou for the seashells !! And the sunshine. Yesterday, we skiied blind most of the day. No visibility much at all... a little sunshine gives definition, so you can tell whether you're skiing downhill or trying to ski uphill. This can be useful !!! Grin.
