Anyone got tmj?
Hi all Im from the uk and have had tmj for about 15 years. I am due to have double custom made jaw replacements (and I'm terrified)I have spoken to a lot of people in America who have it but Im looking for people here in the uk to join and share their experiences and to help each other. It would be really nice to talk to people who are going through the same as myself. There are a lot of symptoms with tmj and everybodies different. I really hope to get some replys on this, if not thanks for listening judy

Anyone got tmj?
tealadyjudy,
I have suffered with TMJ since 1984. It is awful. I was sent to a Jaw doctor, then he sent me to the best dentist in San Diego. I was fitted with a mouth piece. It is made of fiberglass, I have bitten through 2. It saved me from jaw surgery. I wear it each and every night, without fail. If I don't my mouth is locked in the morning.
I wish you luck on your up and coming procedure. I know you must be looking forward to it, as well as dreading it at the same time.
Please let us know how it all went. OH and WELCOME ..!!

Ive suffered with it since 1968 or 9.. But mine is due to a car accident I had when I was 16. My mouth took the brunt of the trauma. Lost teeth Fractured jaw etc.. So Ive always had mouth and or jaw pain. Sometimes pain in the face because of nerve damage. I just live with it. Godd Luck

Hi Weeder sorry you've had so much trouble with your jaw from such an early age as well, cant be much fun for you. Cant they do anything to help you with the pain? The pain killers im on dont do a lot for me. Its right what they say ( if your in the wrong place at the right time) that applys to you and lots of people who have been in accidents and have been left with tmj. Id never heard of it until I was told I had it about 10 years ago. I dont know what caused mine to happen could be stress I suppose. Well thats enough of me moaning. Thanks for the reply and good luck Welsh Judy.
