Wanting to Post to Something
I have been reading as much as I possibly can over the past five days, but have not had the chance to post. Mainly, because it was the weekend and hubby is home, and the past two days I have returned to work after being off seven working days (when I joined this wonderful forum), and truthfully, have felt a little brain dead after getting home and cooking dinner.
In order to post something that may have some significance or may have something that makes sense, I need some quiet time, and without that, I cannot post. The den/computer is located too close to the living area and bedroom, and I don't get any quiet time to try to form a post. What do I do? Love my husband, but really need a time out from him to enjoy other things. Right now, the hockey game is keeping him out of my hair. Anyways, just wanted to say hi, and you can be sure, when I have the chance - I will be throwing my two cents in whenever I can.

G'day Moonpie.. I appreciate where you're coming from!!!! And it's a great and worthy goal to wish to post something in here that both makes sense, and is of some significance. I'm sure all FGers share this desire.... in the meantime, discussions will no doubt continue on the refrigeration (or not) of butter, what not to put cream cheese on, why Mahmood Abbas is the beast of Revelation 13, and whether or not one should off (sic) the kulaks.

G'day AussiePam, hope I did not sound like a whiner. It just seems that some people in this Condo needs my undivided attention. Even the cat gives me crap for sitting in front of the computer. It is just so frustrating. Thanks for listening.

maybe you should get yourself a laptop and set up a wireless system in your house so you can post in your room away from the living room

Well, that sounds like a good comparison except its a 63 year old husband, and a 11 year old cat. Go figure, huh?

I think everyone needs a bit of privacy and a bit of space. The laptop idea might work, if you can afford this, at least to give you some separate computer time. Maybe an occasional evening film with a couple of girlfriends? Even a weekend walk, on your own.

Just remember that forums are addictive and when you do manage to get your "me" time, don't let it replace the together time that you need as well.

Trust me Koan, we have more together time than an average couple. We watch lots of sports together, shop together, etc. He is not an ignored person, never was and never will be - I just don't like feeling I have to justify myself for being in the other room, I feel like I am being rooster-pecked sometimes. ... sorry if I sound like I am bit....ing - just venting I guess. Thanks all for listening and your input.

You shouldnt have to justify yourself Moonpie, i know what you mean though. My hubby is quite happy with me upstairs out of the way so he can watch the horse racing, or time team or some other thing i hate:wah: but as soon as theres nothing he wants to watch or he isnt busy, hes saying, are you stopping on there much longer?? I moved my computer upstairs and changed one of the bedrooms in to my computer room as soon as my kids flew the nest:sneaky:

Who was it that said "A room of one's own?" Was it Virginia Woolf? Anyway, it's a necessary thing. Even just a corner of one's own.

My husband is outside doing his woodworking as I type this. Everyone needs time to themselves occasionally. When I come to the Forum Garden, I feel like I am visiting my buddies for awhile. I may post or I may not, but I do visit.
