The answer - it says 2b (to be). This may be the answer to life, the universe & everything.

Yes.

I majored in philosophy for two years. That was long enough for me to realize that the only thing I could do with the degree was buy a brown corduroy jacket with suede patches on the elbows and teach philosophy.

42 is the correct answer to all the above.
